On the Palluruthy - Chellanam route, precisely nearby the chinese fishing net on the Kalathara road, I coincidentally came across this newly opened 'Kavaru Seafood Restaurant'. Located on the shore of the lake, this hotel is constructed on a floating model. Almost all seafood items are available there. Kakka (shell), Fish, Prawns, Chicken, beef are the main dishes. Apart from that Alfaham and shawarma are also available. As an evaluation mode, I had opted for Kappa and Beef puzhingiyathu from their big menu. Waited for a few minutes to reach the dish. Meanwhile, I have really enjoyed the surroundings and ambiance of the restaurant. Surrounded by the lake and the Chinese net made the mind a good vibe. Their lighting arrangements were also good enough to spread the ambiance to a good extent. Regarding food, it was so tastier than I expect. The dishes were much reasonable and way cheaper too. Good quality and quantity. Beef dish was mouth watering and temptuous. I really liked it. This time I don't get a chance to taste all the dishes there, but definitely I will. Good behavior of staffs, Homely feel food, Good ambiance, Tastier and cheaper food; these are the glimpse of this restaurant. Best visiting time is late evening. The only con I felt is the space is limited and lack of parking space.
Updated review after 2 weeks: Beef puzhungiyath keeps the taste as well. But porotta disappointed me as it was not upto my expectation. Beef vindalu was good for spicy lovers. Shawarma tastes good. This time there was rain too..😍

Read moreBeautiful restaurant on the river with fishermen fishing a few steps away. The restaurant is situated on a floating platform so wherever you choose to sit in their 6-7 table restaurant, you'll have a beautiful tranquil view all around you.
The fish I had looked and tasted fresh. She had two batches of fish, one set marinated in masala and spices, another set not marinated. I asked for simple fried fish with salt only. She was kind and attentive enough to cater to my needs with the help of Google translate. She ended up adding a little bit of curry leaves and turmeric in the end which she served with a few slices of raw onion. The fish was succulent and delicious and only costed 200 inr.
Looking forward...

The price for all the above items came to Rs.590/- which is really a good price . All fish etc are sourced from the waters sorrounding the restaurant ,which itself is floating on...
