From outside Mother's Kitchen looks like a just another house, with a few round tables set in the courtyard. They have a rather quaint garden setting. When you go inside you see a wide variety of photographs of famous people who ate there Naom Chomsky included, some excerpts from Malayalam literature and a very homely atmosphere. Same goes for the food... just the way your mom would make. My family and I had dropped in for lunch. Lunch menu has vegetarian and non vegetarian meals costing 160 and 200 respectively. I took the vegetarian meal which had almost all the Kerala sadya dishes. The portion size is perfect and unlike most places where u feel too full because of the soda they add, the food here was simply comforting. Rather friendly staff from the security to the servers. They have quite clean washrooms and also sell some of the quintessential Kerala snacks like murukku, banana cake, ariunda and also chammandi podi, Ginger candy along with Magazines. They also have a small collection of books that...

I have no idea why these guys are charging 160 rupees for a vegetarian meal. I found it very surprising. The food they serve is not that hi-fi or anything. Just regular meals with rice and some curries. That's all. And it's a mixed restaurant. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian food is served here. The place is OK to visit. Washroom is neat. The location where this hotel is good. Though it is situated right next to the highway and easily noticeable even in a high traffic, the interior is calm and free from the disturbances of the city.

My fried and I had lunch here. He had a non veg meal and I had a veg one. We paid 360 rupees for that. That's an insane amount for that kinda food. In Suprabhatam restaurant which is a 3 star hotel, we tried as many number of items that we could possibly order with all the Nan, curry, dessert and all that, it never crossed a 1000 rupees. I don't recommend this hotel if you want a meal worth spending this much...

I have visited this place twice .Once in the afternoon for a late lunch. We tried Appam - Fish curry combo which was very nice. That was the experience which led to the second visit for a breakfast.Unfortunately my experience was very bad this time.

We were welcomed by uncleaned tables. It took almost 10 minutes for somebody to show up and clean the table. May be because of that an unpleasant odour lingered around.

I felt that there isn't enough staff to cater the tables. No one attended immediately. They had a notice in the wall saying 'Kindly ask for service' But no one was seen around to ask. Finally we have to walk to the reception asking for service. May be this is what they meant by the notice. 😑

Food was okay this time. Quantity is bit less when compared to the price.

Has ample parking and restrooms...

Last week, I noticed that the hot curry and Payasam from this restaurant were being packed in low-grade plastic covers. Concerned about customer health, I called the owner and requested a change, but my concerns were dismissed. Unfortunately, this week, the situation remains the same. Not only are these low-grade plastic covers unsafe for packing hot food, posing a risk of cancer, but the restaurant also has the audacity to charge extra for this substandard packaging! It's shocking that such blatant disregard for customer health is allowed to continue. The food department or government should impose heavy fines on establishments prioritizing profit over quality and safety. Consumers deserve better and safer practices from their local eateries.

Have been a occational visitor to the place for more than 12 years now. The food is tasty - Lunch as well as breakfast which was the reason for 5 * rating earlier. The service also was good earlier. But based on my recent visits, the service has came down drastically from previous times. Especially for breakfast after introducing buffet, there is no one who will attend you if you opt not to go for buffet. No service, if you go request for service also, there is a huge delay in providing service. All this feels to be done purposefully to have folks opt for breakfast buffet after being tired waiting. Now, that purposeful delay is a problem!
