I will sum up my opinion about Rajila Hotel in the beginning itself in case you don’t intend to read further on. The success of Rajila Hotel is the result of extreme hype created by some famous fake youtubers, nothing else. Other than the point that they are dealing only in mutton dishes (if you take that as plus) everything else, value for money, basic ambience, taste and service., everything sucks in that order. Youtubers praise two things about the restaurant i.e., value for money and taste. I have seen dozens of reviews on YouTube about this restaurant showing their plates filled with huge quantities of boneless mutton pieces, which is really value for money to them or maybe absolutely free food for their good fake words about the restaurant. But for us, it’s a different story altogether. We ordered three mutton dishes i.e., mutton fry, mutton curry and mutton perattu prices ranging around Rs.250 for each mutton dish, with parotta and pathiri. The already prepared food arrived in a few seconds, all in tiny side plates, each containing 6 or 7 very small pieces, half of which were bones. Now about the taste, all the dishes with different names were of same flavours and taste which is clear that these are taken from the same pot and altered accordingly in a jiffy. Finally, do you really want to visit this place? Well, if you don’t worry about any ethics like our famous youtubers, while visiting this restaurant pose like a youtuber with the mobile or camera, visit the kitchen and fake talk with the owner. Then probably you might get a value for money ( more mutton pieces without bones) or absolutely free, who knows?

Rajila Hotel in Vallakadavu is one place I can honestly say with eyes closed—you’ll never go wrong here. If you’re someone who loves mutton, this hotel is a must-visit. The mutton curry here is something special 🍖—soft, juicy pieces cooked perfectly with rich masala. Even their beef doesn’t disappoint, and when you pair it with hot porotta, orotti, or fluffy appam, the taste just hits differently. And the chai? Simple but amazing ☕. After a heavy meal, that one glass of tea feels like the perfect ending. It’s not just food, it’s an experience. One thing that makes Rajila stand out is that they cut the meat fresh from their own stall right there. So you can even choose whether you want in grams or by plate, which is something unique. You know you’re eating fresh, and that makes all the difference in taste. Of course, compared to normal hotels, the price here is a little on the higher side 💰. But honestly, when you get this kind of quality and taste, it feels totally worth it. For me, it’s not just about eating, it’s about enjoying food the way it’s meant to be. 9/10, Rajila is one of the best spots in Trivandrum for non-veg lovers—especially if you’re a mutton fan.

Rajila Hotel – A Must-Visit for Non-Vegetarians in Thiruvananthapuram I’ve been hearing about Rajila Hotel for quite some time, and finally got a chance to experience it—and it truly lived up to the reputation. When we went for lunch, only mutton dishes were on the menu, but that was more than enough to impress. Options like mutton curry, perattu, and fry were available, along with sides such as porotta, oratti, and appam. We tried all the mutton varieties, and while each had its own unique flavor, the mutton fry stood out as the best of the lot—perfectly spiced and bursting with taste. Most dishes are on the spicier side, so go easy when pairing them with breads. A comforting mutton soup is also served, though the salt level is kept low so you can adjust it to your liking. To round off the meal, don’t skip their lemon tea with mint leaves—refreshing, flavorful, and the perfect way to end a hearty dinner. Overall, Rajila is an unavoidable destination for any non-vegetarian food lover visiting Thiruvananthapuram.
