A Deeply Disappointing Experience at Royal Bakers & Restaurant, Kolanchery
I recently had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at Royal Bakers & Restaurant, Kolanchery ..a place I had visited several times before with high expectations.
At first glance, the restaurant looked impressive with both AC and non-AC dining sections. Naturally, we chose the AC dining room hoping for a comfortable meal. But the moment we sat inside, we were welcomed not by cool comfort, but by an unbearable foul smell. The stench was so strong that we couldn’t continue sitting there. Reluctantly, we shifted to the non-AC section, which had plenty of tables but an equally unpleasant atmosphere.
To make matters worse, the service was shockingly poor. There were hardly any staff members around, and even getting a menu card took an unusually long wait. I could only see two staff members managing the entire section, which explained the frustrating delays.
When the food finally arrived, the disappointment only grew. The Chicken Noodles, which I ordered first, turned out to be one of the worst versions I’ve ever had. It was completely bland, lacked any proper seasoning, and to my dismay, even carried a slightly stale smell. Following this, we ordered an Al Faham Chicken set, but that too failed miserably. The mayonnaise was extremely sour and unpleasant unlike any I’ve tasted before and the sides that accompanied the dish were equally poor in quality.
Even the fresh lime juice was not enjoyable.
The overall food quality was far below what one would expect from a restaurant of this name. After somehow forcing ourselves to finish a little, the food even caused severe stomach discomfort, which made the experience even worse.
I’ve always considered Royal a decent place and have dined at their other outlets without much issue, but my visit to the Kolanchery branch was nothing short of a disaster. From the unclean and suffocating atmosphere to the lack of proper service and the shockingly bad food quality, everything was a huge letdown.
This was not just a case of food not meeting taste expectations it was an overall unhygienic, mismanaged, and disappointing experience that left me truly upset. I sincerely hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves both their service and food standards because no customer deserves to walk away this...
Read moreRoyal Bakery offers more than just freshly baked treats; its dining experience is a delightful blend of nostalgia and flavor. Known for its rustic charm, the bakery doubles as a cozy dining spot where patrons can enjoy a variety of savory and sweet dishes. The seating area, though modest, is clean and inviting, providing a relaxed ambiance ideal for casual meals with friends or family.
The menu features an array of options beyond baked goods, including hearty breakfast items, quick snacks, and traditional meals. Their chicken puffs, samosas, and freshly made sandwiches are crowd favorites, perfect for a light lunch or snack. Pair these with a cup of their signature chai or fresh fruit juices for a satisfying meal. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts like cream-filled buns and freshly baked cakes are a must-try.
While the food quality is excellent, the service can sometimes be slow during peak hours due to the high demand. Additionally, the limited seating may make it less suitable for large groups. Expanding the dining space and menu variety could further enhance the experience. Despite these minor drawbacks, Royal Bakery’s dining experience offers a nostalgic and flavorful escape, making it a popular choice for locals and...
Read moreI recently had the chance to visit Royal Baker's and Restaurant in Kolencheri, and despite reaching there around midnight, the experience was pleasant overall. Most of the food items were already sold out by the time we arrived, which shows how popular the place is, even late at night. However, we managed to try their porotta and chilli chicken, and both dishes were quite satisfying. The porotta was soft and flaky, and the chilli chicken had a great balance of spice and flavor.
The restaurant has a decent ambient seating area, making it a comfortable place to dine in. One of the notable advantages is the ample parking facility, which is always a plus, especially in a busy town like Kolencheri. In addition to their hot food offerings, they also have a good selection of bakery items available, which looked fresh and appealing.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding a warm touch to the overall dining experience. It's always great to be greeted with a smile, especially during late hours. The shop is conveniently located near Vishal Mart, making it easy to spot.
Overall, I would recommend Royal Baker’s and Restaurant for a casual dining experience with good food and great service, especially if you're...
