Sree Bhavan (Pure Veg) — Restaurant in Kerala

Hotel Sree Bhavan is one of the oldest traditional brahmin restaurants in the locality ( Ollur, Thrissur). Situated on the Ollur Main road in Thrissur this restaurant is more than 50 years old. I have visited this place and have tried various food options at least around 15 times now. We visited this place last on 12th December 2020.

The Masala dosa with red chutney combination at Sree Bhavan is fantastic. We also had their famous Ada, Ghee Roast, Medhu Vada ( Uzunnu Vada as known in Kerala), Pazham Pori and Masala Vada ( Parippu Vada known in Kerala). Masala Dosa, Ada, Uzunnu Vada and Ghee roast all were delicious. However, the Pazham Pori was hard and not sweet enough.

The service at Sree Bhavan is lightning fast. They have a responsive and empathetic team who can serve you real fast. This is also because the owners are 2nd and 3rd generation Restaurateurs and work alongside their employees.

The place has plenty of parking. I am not sure of restrooms since we did not use them. 4 of us had ample food and spent 35 minutes there. The best part is that this quality comes at a reasonable cost. We paid close to INR 500 for Masala Dosa, Ada, Uzunnu Vada, Ghee roast, Pazham Pori and Coffee for all.

During my return journey from Guruvayoor, we sought out a highly-rated vegetarian restaurant using Google Maps and came across this establishment. Upon our initial observation of their kitchen storage, it failed to impress. Despite our reservations, we relied on the positive reviews. Although the restaurant was bustling with patrons, it became apparent that many may have been misled by the online ratings. Seating arrangements were disorganized, leaving diners to stand near occupied tables in anticipation of their turn. This lack of order was particularly inconvenient for those already seated. The cleaning staff's disregard for hygiene was alarming; I witnessed one employee hastily wiping tables with water from a partially consumed glass. Despite hoping that the food quality would justify the high ratings, I was ultimately disappointed. My rating for this establishment is 1.

This hotel is located right in the visicnity of the Ollur junction. The owner Swami is quite renowned in the restaurant/bar circles in Thrissur. My best picks from the items I have tried include Chapathi & Kuruma (this is probably the best Chapathi and Kuruma combination available in Thrissur, in my opinion) Special meals Poori Masala

We have a parking just behind the hotel with nearly 30 car capacity. Also, i have seen people smoking in the car parking area (which is an open area with some trees in one end, where the people do smoke) Toilet facility is available.
