The Backwaters — Restaurant in Kerala

Olam by the lake, sailing club/kayaking, backwaters - all in the same property. The new restaurant inside the property is called the backwaters. Mesmerizing ambience olam by the lake always had, fabulous sunset views, upscaled kitchen, dining space and lot more outdoor table setting, juice/beverage counter, sofa seating and perfect music/speakers. All in all a fantastic upgrade to the place. Now it's a perfect spot to spend an evening or even stay over- I think 2/3 bedroom are available, no difference there.

Amazing Pizza and hot chocolate, good kabab but cold coffee was average. Menu looks interesting and would need more people to try more items on menu. Heard couple of other items are good from the next table.

They have a medium size vallam boat for sunset experience - they have a table setup in it as well probably for a snack. Kayaking is available.

13-7-2025 Beautiful location and a beautiful set up. Best time to visit is either early mornings or evenings - the subtle sunlight.. just a perfect spot. The climate makes it even better. Good food and special drinks.. Watermelon feta cheese was decent - a signature fine dine setup - a huge dish with a small portion of the salad ( more lettuce than watermelon and cheese though) Cauliflower and vegetable cannolie - just amazing - loved it! Would definitely go there to have just that! On our request they made us jain white sauce pasta - amazing! Pineapple jalapeno mocktail was a lil sad in comparison with other cafes in kochi.. Appam wasn't hot and not that soft was okay We had requested cut fruits and veggies for our 1½year old They gave us watermelon, apple and pineapple and some broccoli, babycorn, zucchini

The lawn could be a little mishy once it rains so walk...

We had our family vacation at thebackwaterskochi. One of my friend suggested me to book-rooms for a night. Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful staff ever, lovely and great first impression of the hotel. Everything about the vocation was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and spacious. We were very pleased with our stay and hope to be back for a longer visit in the future. Special mention to Mr.Arjun who always treated us with a pleasant smile and made sure all of his guests were happy throughout their stay at thebackwaterskochi Best wishes to...
