Ummachi's Biriyani — Restaurant in Kerala

I ordered chicken biriyani from Ummachi’s Biriyani via Zomato, and the experience was quite disappointing given the hype and the price point of ₹240.

The rice itself was rather dry and lacked the rich flavour and aroma expected in a good biriyani. Instead of being well-balanced with spices, it felt plain and uninspiring. The chicken pieces were also a letdown – I got three in total, out of which one was just a rib-side bone with barely any meat. The other two pieces were hard, chewy, and lacked proper marination or flavour. For a dish where the meat should shine, this was extremely unsatisfying.

The portion size was another major issue. The entire biriyani was packed in a small 500ml aluminium foil container, which is far too little to be considered a proper single serving at this price. While raita was provided, there was no pickle or any other accompaniment to balance the dryness of the rice. This made the overall meal feel incomplete.

For ₹240, I expected at least tender chicken, a generous portion, and the kind of taste that makes biriyani stand out. Unfortunately, this fell short in almost every aspect – taste, quality, and value for money. With several restaurants in Trivandrum offering much better biriyani at the same or even lower prices, Ummachi’s Biriyani needs serious improvement before it can be recommended.

Not worth the hype, and I personally wouldn’t reorder unless...

I been a visitor every Sunday for this delicious and hot briyani and I make my booking before 11.30am morning otherwise it will be out of stock.....so what means the briyani has the highest booking I ever seen in my life....and it's entirely different what we see in Trivandrum resturants. The quantity it's been not for one as it we can share for two people and the chicken leg piece it's a huge one..and side dishes they provide adds more tasty. And they provide best offers for there customers. Thanks to the hands of Ummachi's Special Briyani for making so tasty...

Bought the 1Kg chicken Biriyani pack which us about 330. So the advertise reference gave a mention about 3 chicken pieces. so for that quantity, I thought the size of the chicken might be big. but the story was that there is huge quantity of rice and with small chicken pieces about 4 with 2 eggs. So when it comes to 2 person portion, this is fine. But the portion target is for 3 person with excess rice, But for those who are fine with less chicken and more rice, its a royalty.

Taste wise its good, but portion for chicken wise for such fine chop. Just...
