Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Vasanth Vihar, a pure vegetarian restaurant in Kasaragod, and the experience left a lasting impression. Nestled in the heart of the city, this unassuming eatery proved to be a hidden gem for those seeking delicious vegetarian fare. The first thing that caught my attention was the delightful array of dishes on their menu. From the moment we ordered, the culinary journey began. We kicked things off with some piping hot and perfectly crispy puris, which were served with a side of delectable chutneys. The fragrant coffee that followed was a comforting and rejuvenating addition to the meal. One of the standout dishes was the Gobi Manchurian, a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The crispy, slightly sweet and tangy cauliflower florets were a true delight for the taste buds. Equally impressive were the dosas—thin, crispy, and perfectly golden brown. The dosas at Vasanth Vihar were an embodiment of South Indian culinary finesse, and the masala dosa, in particular, was a standout. The ambiance at Vasanth Vihar was cozy and inviting, providing a comfortable setting for our dining experience. While it may not be extravagant, it certainly exudes a warm, middle-class charm. It's the kind of place where the focus is on the food and the people you're dining with. In conclusion, Vasanth Vihar is undoubtedly a must-visit spot for vegetarians and food enthusiasts alike. The diverse menu offerings, the delectable taste of every dish, and the inviting, down-to-earth ambiance make it an ideal choice for a casual, satisfying meal. Whether you're a local or just passing through Kasaragod, don't miss the opportunity to indulge in the delightful vegetarian offerings at Vasanth Vihar.

Kasargod being a beach town with some scenic beaches, has some few Star Hotels on the Beach Side including Taj & Lalith which are at Bekal, which is 12Km away. The property in question Vasanth Vihar, is inside the buzzing town of Kasargod, near Press Club Junction on MG Road. It is one of the Old Hotels in this surroundings, in existence from 1960s! The 2nd Generation is now running this grand old property! The place is neat and well maintained, keeping the old world charm intact! It has cute Red Mangalore Tails on top and has higher ceiling with fans. Reminds little like old Irani Joints of Mumbai. Functional, Fine wooden chairs make the seating comfortably just right! They serve traditional South Canara cuisine like Chivda Upma, Delicious Ghee Masala Dosas, Tasty Thali Meals, array of Masala Green Moong & Chana Sundal! You dont get these yummies in any Metro Eateries! That way it makes making a beeline to this charming eatery worth its while!! Staff are very courteous and suggest few local tasty fare if you want to taste apart from the regular Idli Dosa fare! Actually you get an idea of the vast tasty repertoire of veg dishes once you step in here! The prices are very moderate while you compare the same with the metro counter parts. Suddenly you realise how much more can you gorge on for the same money here when compared to the state capitals. We fell in love with place. Do pay a visit and realise the same. If you care more for tasty variety and VFM more than the frills and flashy environs, you will relish and cherish this place. We DEFINITELY did ! Check our food journey. Excellent VEGGIE option in kasaragod.. frequently visited place whenever I'm in kasaragod... one of the older ones too.. They turn 25 in 2023..👏 Traditional people going about their job efficiently.. very affordable and clean too.. You are welcome from 7am till 9pm and u get fresh made food even at 9 pm. 😍 Dahi puri and chats available at evening requires special mention.. Lunch with konkani style side dishes, Dosas and Poori with Channa masala are my favourites.. Funny thing is that they don't have a printed menu.☺️ Ample parking available. Service is quick even though they face heavy crowd during peak hours. Card and UPI Payment options available. One of my favourite fall back place in kasaragod anyday. P.S Adding few pics of my recent visit. Love that they haven't changed a bit . Still owns the tag of a safe and good veg place in kasaragod town..❣️
