Read moreRecently, I had the pleasure of dining at Vasanth Vihar, a pure vegetarian restaurant in Kasaragod, and the experience left a lasting impression. Nestled in the heart of the city, this unassuming eatery proved to be a hidden gem for those seeking delicious vegetarian fare.
The first thing that caught my attention was the delightful array of dishes on their menu. From the moment we ordered, the culinary journey began. We kicked things off with some piping hot and perfectly crispy puris, which were served with a side of delectable chutneys. The fragrant coffee that followed was a comforting and rejuvenating addition to the meal.
One of the standout dishes was the Gobi Manchurian, a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The crispy, slightly sweet and tangy cauliflower florets were a true delight for the taste buds. Equally impressive were the dosas—thin, crispy, and perfectly golden brown. The dosas at Vasanth Vihar were an embodiment of South Indian culinary finesse, and the masala dosa, in particular, was a standout.
The ambiance at Vasanth Vihar was cozy and inviting, providing a comfortable setting for our dining experience. While it may not be extravagant, it certainly exudes a warm, middle-class charm. It's the kind of place where the focus is on the food and the people you're dining with.
