In the year 2017, Captain's Cafe opened its doors and was launched at City Centre which received great response from people since it was the beginning of a period when a lot of food ventures were being established across the city. After a short while, the whole cafe setup shifted to Garden Palace above GST Bhavan near Sirol, and that's where its actual glory began. Setting great standards for casual dining in the city of Gwalior, Captain's Cafe became a popular landmark for an impressive getaway for all those who looked for an escape from the chaos of city life and spend quality time with friends and acquaintances. Providing stunning views of scenic landscapes around the space, the cafe had been designed amazingly well with retro and vintage themed decor and ambience, that led to its expansive popularity among folks in the city and otherwise. On the other hand, the menu was just another interesting aspect that catered well to all of its visitors and regular customers with its subtle, unique, and fabulously delicious servings which were also creatively presented. This place certainly upped the ante for all the existing ventures that offered fine dining, despite of its faraway location from the city.
It was the year 2018 when I discovered it, and immediately had an obsession with this place. It's hard to recollect the number of times I visited the cafe thereafter, and the number of recommendations I made to all my friends and family for this remarkable venture.
It is 2024 currently and has been more than 2 years since I visited the place. I'd love to go back and try my favourite delicacies which included their lipsmacking pastas, cheese oozing Lasagna, and their...
Read more10/10 for the new location and vivid ambience. Captain’s Cafe has always delivered a feast to the eyes with its decor and collectibles in every corner of the place. I really wish to say the same about the food but it still needs some crucial improvements in it’s menu. No mention of pizza sizes anywhere in the menu. A little info on what size are we looking at would be nice.
Unless you guys are following the cult ‘Say No to Chinese products’, why not add in some chinese food in the menu! There has always been issues with chinese at Captain’s Cafe old and new location both (observation of a regular visitor) Overall a nice place away from city mess and relax with friends or family. A bit more improvement in taste would make this place perfect.
P.S.- The ‘Captains’ letters standing at the hilltop is a great idea and cool way to mark...
Read moreEdit: -1 star. The menu has changed entirely from last year. There's less of American and more of Thai/Asian dishes. I did like the food, but I really preferred the previous menu. Or they could help us get some idea about the dishes in a small footnote. Although, their staff works super hard even with full capacity. I'd really want to try Red Thai Curry next time. I had Green Thai Curry (a coconut curry with exotic vegetables), and that was delicious!
There's a good reason why this cafe is a bit far away from the usual location. It attracts a crowd which loves the retro, calm and grandeur vibe of this place. I usually have a thing or two which go off, but the food and presentation of this place is just amazing. We only ordered vegetarian and everything was delicious. Must try the World War Bomber and Maverick...
