There's a balance that one feels while ordering spicy Indian food in Indore. Most of the restaurants have #Punjabi cuisine influences, with a hint of Mughlai in the gravies served. The only disheartening point to be noted is the excess oil that floats atop the non vegetarian and veggie gravies, which makes the consumer take a backseat while going for any extra serving.
#Pishori Restaurant combines the best of both worlds, #PunjabiSwaad and #MughlaiMasaledaar to pop up an experience that could leave you licking your fingers, and hopefully piling up your plate with more delicacies.
I and my extended family ordered from this place, based on recommendations from one of their earlier experiences, and the satisfied appetites that it gave. The order was placed on Zomato's competitor #foodaggregator platform, and ended up reaching our doorstep 10 minutes earlier than expected.
Check out the bouquet of dishes we ordered in;
Chicken Curry (Spicy Masala Variant) Chicken Shammi Kebab x 2: (Each plate had 6 pieces of fat, rounded and well grilled mince chicken patties with a hint of pepper, coriander and rustic spices!) - A #musttry here Aloo Gobhi Sabzi x 2: (Chunky Potatoes with chopped cauliflower sauteed with turmeric, tomatoes, onions and Indian Masalas) Dal Fry (Not too spicy, lentil soup blended with veggies and topped with black pepper!) - Worth a try for sure Missi Roti x 4, Tandoori Roti x 4, Naan Bread x 1 Onions Rings and Green Chutney and Lemon Wedges (Complimentary with the above dishes)
The overall verdict from 7 people (6 senior citizens and 1 in his mid-30s) was that the food quality was up to the mark, the packaging was tamper free, yet the use of plastic was concerning. Most of the dishes were soul- satisfying, and along with the breads made for an almost top-class meal. ๐๐โ๏ธ
Good wishes to the chefs and the management team that keep churning out such wondrous specialities, and give customers in Indore a place to head to/order from, when Punjabi-Mughlai dishes cross peoples' minds. ๐๐ค๐

ย ย ย Read morePishori has a grand glass door entrance.
Ambience was good, inside was a bit dark, even though some lights were on. There may be 20+ white cloth covered tables. Cutlery holders were over stuffed with forks and spoons.
Sitting arrangement is comfortable.
There menu was beautifully printed, covered book like with extensive and huge selection of dishes in various sections. Style ala carte menu. See pictures.
Spent a few minutes browsing the menu, choosing a dish was a bit difficult, so many things to choose from. Some names were unique and never seen before.
On page seven, I noticed ... Non-Veg Combo: Eight different choices! My Indore friend Mr M and I choose: chicken and mutton items.
When we ordered, the waiter was staring at the menu, he was frozen in time. I had repeat our order 3-4 times, pointing my finger to #1 and #8, the waiter stood still without blinking! I had to ask him if he's hearing me - of course politely. It took him a couple mins to return to reality. Maybe he didn't understand my English accent, i noticed he didn't squint his eyes to read the English menu from a distance.
Mr M choice: Buttermilk Chicken Curry (2 pcs) with 2 Lachha Paratha and buttermilk.
My choice: Mutton masala (2 pcs) with 2 Laccha Paratha and buttermilk.
Price INR 250 each.
Our ordered dishes came in around ~10+ mins. Two small hard plastic trays. Compact size trays (See pictures).
At a glance, I noticed the Laccha Paratha were not crispy (they normally are) semi or half raw.
My Indore friend and I we shared our dishes to taste.
Buttermilk Chicken Curry was much on the tastier and saltier side. Two chicken pieces were well cooked. Rating: 4 Stars / 5 Stars.
Mutton Curry, the masala was over cooked and on the burnt side and had much less saltier. My Rating: 3 Stars / 5 Stars.
In my opinion, Pishori deserves one time visit only.
On ala carte menu the prices were on the high side. I won't go for it.

ย ย ย Read moreThis place is very well known amongst the hardcore non veg lovers especially sindhis & punjabis... One of the oldest and famous dhaba (now restaurant) of Indore.. I've been coming here since my childhood but this is the first time Im getting a chance to review this place.. My last visit was on 10th Sept 2022 for dinner. Taste- 5/5 Quantity- 5/5 Ambience- 5/5 (Considering the price & food quality offered... PS I had my dinner in their newly renovated family place)
Dishes I ordered:
Mutton Do Pyaaza: Less Oily yet flavourful thick light brown gravy complimented with sauteed onion cubes and 4 tender mutton pieces. It was simply delicious.
Chili Fish: Deep fried boneless fish pieces tossed in Chinese sauces and vegetables. It was mildly spiced but appetizing. The fish chunks too were very soft from inside and seemed to be a fresh catch. Made as per our order (semi gravy).
Mutton Keema Paratha: Considering the price at they are offering this bread (Rs 50/-), the stuffing was more than what I could think of. Taste & quantity too were great.
Rumali Roti: They were served hot and super soft and hence met our satisfaction level.
Veg Fried Rice: This was something I would rate half a point less as I found the salt level a bit low. It lacked a little chinese seasoning and could have been a bit better. But overall the quantity and taste were fine.
Would highly recommend this place if you havent explored it. My suggestion would be to order more of Tandoori & Indian items to relish their proper...
