TEMPLE CITY RESTAURANT - PANDI KOVIL — Restaurant in Madurai

Visiting this branch of Temple city for the first time.. the welcome itself was so bad... The water from handwash was all over the place and they were cleaning when ppl were eating. We chose a table but it was dirty n we asked them to clean. But they just kept mum n I heard the cashier say let them sit wherever they want.. so many tables are free nu.. we chose to sit in some other table... Then came the food... The rice was yellowish. When asked they said it will be like this only... We just told don't want they didn't ask any questions n were speaking at our back.. Been to so many branches of Temple city n have preferred that during travels.. but this branch within the city limits was so awkward n the ppl there weren't welcoming at all... We really cudnt...

Temple City on the Pandi Kovil Ring Road in Madurai is a very good vegetarian restaurant and the quality of food they serve is excellent. They mainly provide South Indian cuisine besides some north Indian food items. It remains crowded most of the time for its very delicious food items. Cost of food is also reasonable. The ambience, lighting of the dining area and cleanliness of their rest room are not very impressive. The staff are helpful and attentive. The front portion of the restaurant has been used for displaying and selling some pottery items and wood craft items besides some south Indian cookies and packaged snacks which is an added attractions to the visitors and tourists. This is one of the worst places I have visited while traveling. I highly recommend NOT to visit this place. It is not hygenic and the quality of food is worse than roadside places. Very basic items like parotta Kurma and veg noodles were poorly prepared. The parotta was not cooked well and the Kurma was watery with lots of leftover coconut chutney from the morning. The noodles was not cooked and was very salty. We ordered paneer 65 and got mushroom and the waiter insisted we have it since it is good. When the paneer was served we found it was fried in bajji flour in preheated oil. Overall a very disappointing and disgusting experience. Please don't visit this place; you are better off eating...
