A Fading Star on the Highway
There was a time when Daulat was synonymous with comfort and quality on the highwayâa must-stop destination for travelers craving good food and a clean, refreshing break. Sadly, those glory days are now a distant memory.
The most glaring issue is the lack of cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms. What used to be a highlight for travelers seeking a hygienic stopover has now become a source of frustration. The toilets are unkempt, with poor maintenance and an unpleasant smell that can overshadow any positive aspects of the visit.
The food, once renowned for its taste and freshness, is now decidedly mediocre. The flavors are uninspiring, and the quality feels like an afterthought. Add to this a lackluster service experienceâstaff members seem indifferent, and the overall atmosphere lacks the warmth it used to have.
However, Daulat still holds some practical appeal, mainly due to its convenient location and ample parking. If you find yourself with no better alternatives, it can serve as a functional pit stop. But if youâre looking for a memorable meal or a pleasant break, itâs unlikely to meet your expectations.
Daulat is now a shadow of its former self, and itâs disappointing to see a place with such potential fall by the wayside. Here's hoping the management takes serious steps to bring back the standards that once made it a favorite...

The restaurant has ample parking.
We ordered salted lassi, masala chaas and kothambir wadi. Staff was well mannered and efficient. We may have hardly waited for 5 minutes for our order.
The chaas was more like mattha. The thicker version of the usual chaas that we have. Not complaining as i loved it. Although it was 'masala' chaas , it was not spicy.. it had the right amount of masala :)
And the kothambir wadi was out of this world! The wadas were literally "stuffed" with kothambir / coriander leaves...n it was very crispy...and of course quite tasty. Only thing we missed was a chutney. We were served ketchup instead.
Washroom review Now coming to the washrooms. Both the men's and women's washrooms were sparkling clean. The women's washroom has a huge full length mirror n many other smaller mirrors. Also the women's washroom had Indian as well as Western commodes with working flushes n ample number of wash basins.
All in all, we left the place as happy and...
