Yesterday, while traveling along the highway, I noticed a large crowd gathered in front of a restaurant. Assuming it was a popular spot for non-vegetarian food, I decided to stop and check it out.
Upon entering, I found there was a 15-minute waiting period. Out of curiosity, I asked the manager about the restaurant’s specialty so I could decide what to order. Surprisingly, he mentioned that they specialize in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
The seating arrangement was mixed, with no separate family section. I ordered a mutton thali, which included mutton masala, mutton alani, an egg, raita, and bhakri. For my wife, I inquired about an egg thali, but the waiter informed me they didn’t offer one. Instead, we had to order egg masala separately. When I asked what kind of gravy they used in the egg masala, he mentioned it was onion-based. So, we ordered egg masala and bhakri for her.
Now, let me share my experience with the food: • The mutton masala was tasteless, coated with black masala(no taste) and lacked flavor. • The mutton alani rassa was decent. • The egg masala served with my thali was oily and tasteless — I could barely finish half of my bhakri.
To my disappointment, the separate egg masala we ordered turned out to be the same gravy they used for the mutton masala, overloaded with tomato gravy. It became clear that they didn’t have distinct gravies for different dishes; they simply used the same base for both veg and non-veg items.
My wife could barely finish her egg masala, and overall, the experience was a complete letdown.
It seems the restaurant’s primary customer base consists of travelers or locals from nearby areas. Frankly, I can’t imagine anyone going out of their way from Pune city just to dine there.
Their menu mentioned that food would be served within 15 minutes after placing an order. However, it took 20 minutes just for their manager to come and...
