4 star for food, 1 star for service experience, Read further why.

We were lured in by what looked like the hottest spot in town—people hovering outside, a flurry of "Sorry, we're full right now" whispers, and a general buzz that made it feel like the place was the next big culinary sensation. Naturally, curiosity (and hunger) got the better of us.

After waiting with the crowd for a while, we were eventually “squeezed in”—only to walk into… a half-empty dining room.

Yep. You read that right.

Turns out the crowd outside was less about high demand and more about high drama. A clever (or questionable) marketing ploy to make the restaurant appear like the go-to destination. In reality, there were plenty of open tables, and the ambience inside was surprisingly calm, almost eerily so given the circus at the entrance.

In fact the guy at the entrance was taking the order in such a hurry that he deliberately wrote twice of what we ordered taking advantage of the commotion. When we objected to the extra food items that we didn't order came, their reply was that it will go into trash since it can't be returned. Wow!!!

Anyway we ordered 2 things:

-Basic Chicken Thali: It was tasty and had egg curry, chicken curry, soup, sweet raita, salad and 2 tandoori roti. Recommended since most non veg dishes in Pune are tasteless.

Chicken Dum biryani: That's the reason for a star less. It was really bad!! Not even close to the word "biryani" leave Dum. It was utterly tasteless and extremely spicy. The Biryani here is basically rice dipped in chicken gravy that's it nothing else.

Cost wise it's nothing great.

In short: Come for the food if you must, but don’t let the hype at the door fool you. It’s not a full house—it’s just full...

#customerexperience #positivereview In Frame- Shivraj Special Ravan thali

Last sunday We visited Hotel Shivraj.

Address: Hotel Shivraj, In front of bhegade lawn, old, Mumbai – Pune Expy, Vadgaon, Maharashtra 412106

Hotel Shivraj serves Maharashtrian and North Indian cuisine. They serve snacks and starters, if you’re in for a quick bite and they also serve lip-smacking kebabs, chicken, fish and mutton dishes.

Hotel Shivraj Speciality -

Special Kadaknath Thali special chicken thali special mutton thali special gavran chicken thali special surmai thali special kolambi thali special bangada thali

We ordered Special Kadaknath Thali, special chicken thali, special mutton thali, special gavran chicken thali. All dishes were great. Food was cooked well and the dishes were mouth smacking.

They offer a ‘Ravan Thali’ that comprises a whopping 32 items including mutton, chicken, and fish dishes that actually takes two people to bring it out.

Also, they offer 'bullet thali' challenge. In this challenge a person wishing to participate in the contest has to finish the ‘bullet thali’ weighing 4 kg, in under 60 minutes. The bullet thali is a non-veg thali which has over 12 dishes like prawn biryani, pomfret fish fry, chicken sukka, dry mutton, sol kadi, mutton masala, surmai fry and many more.

Highly recommended for nonveg...

Without doubt it’s the heaven for desi non-veg lovers. Mutton, Fish or Chicken, this place is a frequent visit destination and you gotta try them all. • Friendly staff, fast service, owners are courteous, stylish and cool (: • Decently spacious place, they have arrangements for family as well - hand wash corner present • The joint is known for its delicacies like mutton bhakri, chicken bhakri especially kadaknath • If you are planning a visit in group, do try their thaalis ~ 2-3 friends - Pailwan thaali, 4-5 friends - Bakasur thaali, 10-12 friends - Ravan thaali • I learnt if 5 people can finish Ravan thaali, the restaurant will reward you with ₹5,000 and will not charge for thaali as well ! • PayTM, Card payment, UPI all accepted • Do not forget to ask for classic Shivraj Garden mouth freshener after the meal • At few points I didn’t find the hygiene right - cockroaches, waiters serving bhakri with bare hands, one was dipping his finger in the finger-bowl while passing it to us, but that’s mostly the scenario at such desi joints • And yes, if you prefer paan after hefty meal, there is a kiosk right outside the food joint • Rest, the joint will speak for itself, as the evening falls you will see the footfall increase • The parking could be a concern but there are several spots just wishing 20 m...

So finally last week on sunday we visited this place for lunch around 3:30pm but still the place was full of crowd. After waiting for more than 20 mins we finally got the table for the lunch. So whenever you wish to visit this place do order first on the counter and then wait for the table 😛🙌. The Place Ambience is really good. They have a huge shivaji Maharaj statue inside the hotel. The hotel has big and good seating arrangements inside the hotel. The owner of this hotel himself is always working in the hotel to see if any guest are facing problem or not. The staff is fast and very good. Coming to the Thali we had over here:- These place is very trending on the social media for there huge thalis. So we ordered Bakasur Kadaknath Thali :- The Thali was really huge in size and the thali can be shared with 5 to 6 ppl. The thali included chicken tandoori, chicken handi, chicken sukka, chicken alani, chicken vajdi fry, biryani, rice, fish fry also with salad and 10 bhakri with the thali. The taste of every item it really good and authentic taste😍. The tandoori is perfectly juicy and well cooked. Biryani was also good. Overall the whole thali is great ❤. The price is only 1800/- and it's really worth the taste❤. Do visit this place once to try there best thali's in town.

It was our first visit to hotel shivraj. Before this, we passed from this road several times but did not get a chance to go n visit. Coming to the ambience, it was ok ok not too good not too bad. Food was delicious. We ordered special mutton thali and poplet thali. It total costs around 800(including both thalis). It was Sunday so we thought to leave soon as we heard a lot about waiting. But as per my observation, if you visit between 12 to 2 pm, you will get a place to seat easily. Service was quick. Staff was from their house members only. So they were so polite and we had a feeling like a home there. when we entered in the hotel , my daughter was sleeping, so without thinking too much, owner gave us a 4 seater place so that I and my daughter get comfort. As per my knowledge, no such busy and famous hotels allot 4 seater place for 2 ppl. So I liked their habit of caring for customers. They have various places or sections to sit like common hall, thali hall and some outside seating with covered area. Overall it's a good place to visit. Everyone should give it a try. I am attaching some menu card pics too for rates and menus . Like my review if you like it and if you found it informative.
