Hotel Vasant Vijay — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Please be careful of this over hyped restaurant and from my experience never go to a restaurant at a tourist place just by watching YouTube videos (Most of them are paid & fake). I will list few concerns that I had during my visit to Hotel Vasant Vijay:

1. It's very clear that hotel has been able reach great marketing heights on YouTube contrary to its reality. We have fallen prey to the same YouTube rating and google reviews scam.
2. First I will talk about the food!....When it comes to fish we had very high expectations in terms of taste. After taking a look at menu prices I was dumbfounded ( We were literally sitting few hundred meters away from the ocean and were charged literally 4-5 times the cost of that piece of fish ). Even in Pune we get better taste at much better price. Rs 350+ for a surmai thali with 1 single medium surmai piece is outrageous (total cost to owner is very less as fish is sourced from the ocean itself) .Fish was good but I can certainly assure that we get better taste here in Pune. 3)We also ordered a veg thali in which variety of vegetables were served with aamras (mango ras). This aamras has to be the worst that I ever had in years...sorry my bad that wasn't even aamras.These pathetic people served us mango pulp in the name of aamras. Remember this happened at a place which probably has tastiest mangoes across the globe:-DEVGAD :). Shows to what extent one can fall...This hotel brings shame to Indian culture of "Atithi Devo Bhava"
3. When we entered we were continuously insisted upon sitting in AC room without even telling that AC incurs extra charges. On top of that because of unending opening and shutting of door by staff the room temperature was very similar to that of outsides.
4. At the end my only conclusion is all that glitters is not gold=चकाकणारे सर्व सोनेच असते असे नाही!!!
5. I have nothing personal against hotel owners.I am also Marathi and I hope local people gain good income from tourist but I think few places take tourist for granted. This hotel was a complete rip-off considering the quantity, quality of the food they provided. I hope owners take it positively and make eating at their hotel a pleasant experience for their brothers and sisters from other parts of...

We visited this restaurant last Monday for lunch. We were a group of three, and overall it turned out to be a very satisfying experience.

The ambience is quite impressive – the restaurant has a spacious seating arrangement spread across 3–4 rooms, which gives you a comfortable and relaxed dining experience. The staff is polite, humble, and attentive. Service was quick; we got our food within 15 minutes of ordering, which is commendable.

We ordered a Veg Thali and two fish thalis – Pomfret Thali and Surmai Thali.

The Veg Thali was wholesome and well-prepared. It included three vegetables, aluwadi, amrakhand, chapati, pickle, curd, and more. Rice was unlimited, which was a plus point. Every dish was fresh and flavorful. Every thali has solkadhi which was spicy.

The Pomfret Thali was tasty, though it felt like the fish was not exactly rava fry as expected. Still, the flavor did not disappoint.

The Surmai Thali was good as well, though the fish pieces were not very big in size.

One highlight was the Prawns Curry – it was absolutely delicious, so much so that we ended up ordering it again! On the other hand, the Fish Curry was a bit of a letdown for us. It had an overpowering taste of Triphala, which made the flavor too strong which wasnt acceptable.

They served saunf in small pouches at the end.

The restaurant is located slightly away from the main Devgad–Nipani highway, but the detour is worth it if you’re looking for good thali options in this area.

Overall it has great ambience, quick service, tasty thalis, with prawns curry being the star of the meal. Fish curry could be improved. Definitely worth a visit if...

One of the famous sea food dishes restaurants in devgad Sindhudurg. Great Experience to have sea food at the place.

Food - Different dishes from prawns fry, pomfret, kingfish to bangda thali, egg thali and chicken thali. Solkadhi is superb tasty😋 . I really liked the food at Vasant Vijay! The owner is a very nice cool person, and the place feels more like home-cooked food. You have different options for pomfret and kingfish thali. They have Jumbo pomfret, medium size pomfret and VIP pompfret thali available based on sizes of pomfret fish. Same is applicable for surmai/kingfish thali. Try kombdi vade, pomfret fry. If you want to try kalwa/oyster then this is the best place to try kalwa/oyster masala. This is rare seafood in konkan but very tasty.

Location - Near to devgad pawanchakki garden. Place is in the centre of devgad city.

Seating arrangements/ hygiene- The place is really maintained clean. The seating arrangements are proper and separate for family section with AC. No liquor is allowed and they keep notice of the same at display 👍🏻. They have clean washrooms.

Staff and service - The staff is attentive and courteous.

Wait time / reservation- Reservation is not accepted. Only walk ins. This place is usually crowded, so be prepared for a waiting time of 15–20 minutes. Sometimes in weekend you need to wait for 30min but it’s worthy to wait by considering sea food dishes.

Parking - Plenty of parking is available for 2 wheeler and 4 wheelers with free of charge.

Prizing - Prize is common and average for all food dishes. Cash as well as UPI...
