Kihim beach restaurant — Restaurant in Maharashtra

My wife Karen, my Beagle Rey 🐶, and myself were deciding where to go for lunch today in Alibaug - preferably a place we hadn’t yet visited. After some browsing on the net, we zeroed in on Kihim Beach Restaurant. I called the restaurant to basically check whether Rey would be permitted entry. Spoke to Swapnil and his response dispelled any doubts - he said that pet dogs are family members and Rey was most welcome 🤗 We drove to Kihim from Gondhalpada - the route was most scenic with paddy fields all along the way and amazing weather. We reached Kihim Beach Restaurant and were greeted warmly by Swapnil. We opted for the outdoor seating since it was quite pleasant. We went (naturally) for the fish Thali - Karen chose the Prawns Thali while I requested for a Pomfret Thali. There was only one other family in the restaurant so our order was served in less than fifteen minutes. First the Prawns Thali - very decent sized and generous portion of Fried Prawns along with Prawn curry, two rice Bhakris, and a katora of rice with Solkadi, lime and onions. The Fried Prawns were awesome and rank high in our assessment. The Pomfret too was of a decent size and fresh and delicious. The pomfret Thali too came with prawn curry (small size but very tasty). Rey too loved the prawns and pomfret and smacking her lips and constantly pawing me asking for more ! We had an absolutely fabulous meal and at such a reasonable cost - Rs. 350 for Prawns Thali and Rs. 450 for Pomfret Thali ! Alibaug is indeed a paradise for food especially if you like fish. We packed the leftover two rice Bhakris and also ordered a Prawns Biryani takeaway 😀 Another plus factor is the availability of ample parking space though I’m not sure if it is adequate on weekends. Before I forget, the service was good (Raj) - but will need to be tested when there’s a crowd but when on a holiday, one should just chill. Couple of suggestions - it would be nice if a small portion of any green vegetable is included in the Thali. And secondly, if they can play some Hindi music (although they played some good Justin Bieber songs). The Best Restaurant I have ever visited in Kihim !!! If you wanna try authentic Maharashtrian Sea Food ,you are coming to the right place. The place is just the 1st restaurant from the beautiful sea and you will be intrigued by the amazing aroma of the foods coming within. We tried the Surmai Thali🍱 which is the superb wholesome food plate to savour your palate. It comes with the All-time natural Sol Kadhi which is the perfect food finisher & I would recommend this to everyone as it tasted so delicious that you would keep coming back for just that one ! We also tried Prawns Tandoori 🦐🦐🦐 which was impeccably delicious,I would too ask everyone to try this!! The Paneer Chilly🍲,Mixed Fried Rice🍜,Fried Noodles🍝,Butter Chicken 🍗🥘and Chicken Thali🍛 too and not to mention they were the best from any other restaurants we had tried as we visit Kihim since many years. It is also a Family-run restaurant which means you get authentic food. The best part is that they have a small play area for kids to entertain so that parents can also have a moment to enjoy the delicious food 😁 The owner Mr Swapnil is a delightful host and the lovely ambience at the restaurant feels like a huge familial house when you are their guest..!! Fun fact - he also has his own Water Sports Stall at the Beach so you can ask for combos for your group for a more exciting...

It was a great feeling right there at Kihim Beach Restaurant...The warmth/The hospitality/The personal touch, care & taste of the served food & preparation.....all in all simply brilliant !!

The awesome set of Green leafy Plants...just beside the entrance was simply soothing to the eyes and it reflects your personality as a nature loving and caring human being!!

No need to write specially about food since it is a foregone conclusion...when an owner exhibits such caring and loving attitude towards his profession....one can be rest assured about the quality of food they serve as we sensed that their staffs wellbeing's are well cared off so that they churn out their best while preparing the food !!
