Quiet little place with a perfect little setup that for a while makes one feel like being in one of those little family run patisseries in Western Europe.
An affable and welcoming host, neat and clean, there are these posters and magnets and books and prints that appear to be a refection of the owner's preferences - a place that appears to be someone's love & labour of love; sort of carries on to reflect in the food that is served.
The Espresso is worth a mention(its the first time in India when someone didn't tell me that an Espresso is a black strong coffee with no sugar!), it was made perfectly, just the way it should be. The Chili Dog like thing that I had was fresh, tad bit spicy, very well made and just right for a 10 am snack which I much deserved after a 24 hour marathon with Power Failure, Humidity, Mosquitoes & of course No Food!!!. The best came after that - The Blueberry Pastry...delightful...that is the word.
A special thanks to the owner for directing us to an amazing Parsi food outlet and also for letting us charge our dying cellphones(while the Espressos etc charged us up) that was a lifesaver after the aforementioned power failure fiasco.
The inhabitants of Dahanu must thank those who have put this little place up for them and I for one who is not very likely to revisit the town, if I ever do again, would make it a point to spend some long quite hours there. It is a wonderful...
Read moreLe Marcel Café in Dahanu is hands down the best café in the area. If you’re anywhere near Dahanu, this place is an absolute must-visit, especially if you’re a burger lover. They serve what I can confidently say are the world’s best burgers. The in-house special, the Marco Burger, is simply out of this world. It’s the most delicious, crunchiest, and juiciest burger I’ve ever had. Trust me when I say, you don’t even need to look at the menu—just order the Marco Burger and some Marco fries, and you won’t be disappointed.
While the milkshakes were a bit of a letdown, the desserts more than make up for it. The cakes and pastries here are freshly baked and absolutely delicious, perfect for satisfying any sugar rush or dessert craving. However, they are a bit on the pricey side, with pastries costing between ₹120 to ₹180, which feels a bit steep.
Recently, they’ve also started serving pizza, and I tried the chicken and four cheese pizza. It was cheesy, flavorful, and everything you’d want from a good pizza.
Now, when it comes to food and ambience, I’m giving this place a solid 5 stars. However, I’m giving 2 stars for service because it’s self-service here, and honestly, I’m just too lazy for any sort of self-service 😜.
In short, if you’re in or around Dahanu, make sure to stop by Le Marcel Café for their incredible burgers. I myself make it a point to visit at least once a month, and it’s always...
