Mast Malvani — Restaurant in Maharashtra

One of the best malwani hotels in the way to Mumbai-Goa highway. This hotel is located just after Mangaon and just before Mahad. Parking is Available. Hotel has tables in AC and Non AC. Food is at its best taste. Cooked on the village type gas called Chulli war che chevan. Do try dry masala prawns. It taste out of the world as they use this home made masala. Fish is the specialty at this place. With very reasonable rates fish chicken mutton Thali is available. Plus fry pieces of fish available separately. All dishes are served with banana leaf bellow each fried pieces. Try their bhakri in bajri and jawar. Your can try all type of fish available if you are a real fish lovers. Also plain rice Given is from Near by Village. After your food take a sip of solkadi to cool your further ride. Kids can have fun at their fun garden near the car parking. After your lunch or dinner you can walk on the grass garden with border with rose plants. The interior of the hotel is pleasant. Worst experience ever. I seriously doubt on these reviews. Google don't have minus star rating otherwise I would have given that. We visited this hotel because we saw good reviews. But when we reached hotel, the experience was quite pathetic.

The staff was quite less and was not in listening mode. Literally one of my friend wrote down the order and gave it to main counter. The order took more than an hour to get. Non veg food was completely disgusting. No proper taste. Chapati was like a paper and was not in eatable condition. Some of my friend literally left the food as it is. Now the thing is - entire hotel was empty and it was us who were eating, despite that staff was not able to provide hot food.

When we complained to ower, he was completely in denial mode. Ignoring, arrogant, rude inspite seeing all these - that's what I can say. If owner talk like this then what else we can expect from staff.

I would strongly recommend not to visit this hotel, food is pathetic, staff and owner is arrogant and you will waste your time.

I feel the hotel name should be changed from "Mast Malvani" to "Sust...

It is a decent restaurant but rated 3 stars because of the lack of authenticity of a taste which we usually get in a Sindhudurg region.

Taste could have been better as per the reviews and ratings given by other people.

It is the best stopover if people are coming from Mumbai to Goa side and vice versa. But it is more convenient while coming from Mumbai to mangoan side.

We ordered thali - surmai and pomfret. Both were looking elegant. Fried fish was the only thing we liked (me and wifey) the rest of the gravy thing was way below average.

The size of the surmai fish was very small as compared to what we got around the malvan, kankavli, kudal area.

But the main highlight of the overall food was the pomfret fish, you can check the images I posted. The size of the pomfret was huge, so I ordered it twice.

To summarise it, I didn't like anything apart from the pomfret fish. The toilets are clean, there is ample parking space, and a nice garden to sit and play for kids. The look and feel of a restaurant...
