Review: Disappointing Experience at Rajput Restaurant, Shekta – Sambhaji Nagar I visited Rajput Restaurant at Shekta, Sambhaji Nagar, this evening expecting a decent highway-style dining experience. The restaurant’s location near the BP petrol pump and its well-maintained seating area gives the initial impression of a traditional yet reasonably ambient dhaba setup. However, the experience was far from satisfactory. One of the main dishes served in the evening is khichdi, which I had specifically requested to be made non-spicy due to dietary preferences. Despite this, the dish came with visible green chillies, and the spice level was noticeable. More importantly, the khichdi itself was undercooked—grains were not fully baked, making it unpleasant to eat. This points to either a rushed preparation process or negligence in quality control. In addition to the food quality, the hygiene standards were deeply disappointing. There were flies hovering around the table area, creating an uncomfortable and unsanitary dining environment. The overall cleanliness of the dining space, particularly the college canteen-style open layout, seemed poorly maintained. For a place that markets itself as a vegetarian dhaba with decades of service, one would expect better upkeep. While the seating arrangements and exterior ambiance may initially impress visitors, they fall short when weighed against the lack of food quality, poor hygiene, and inattentive service. Even basic customer requests such as a less-spicy preparation were not honored, indicating a disregard for customer comfort and preferences. In conclusion, despite its longstanding reputation and decent infrastructure, Rajput Restaurant at Shekta does not meet the expectations of quality dining. I do not recommend this place for those seeking hygienic, flavorful, and customer-responsive meals. There are certainly better alternatives in and around Sambhaji Nagar that offer both better taste and cleaner environments.

This place has unfortunately earned my ire. Let's start with the hygiene issues. The dining sofa was a complete mess, with food stains and leftover crumbs on it. The menu card itself was no better, with visible food stains. This should have been a red flag for what was to come. Now onto the food. I ordered a sada dosa, a Mysore masala dosa, medu vada sambar, and paneer tikka masala. The Mysore masala dosa was a catastrophe. It was slathered with mint chutney, which is typically reserved for sandwiches. The sambar was watery and devoid of flavor. The coconut chutney was tasteless and lacked any hint of coconut flavor. The paneer tikka masala was a disappointment as well, devoid of any discernible spices or taste. As for the sada dosa, it was no better. The medu vada was chewy, almost rubbery, like a subpar donut. The state of the ladies' washroom was an additional strike against this establishment. Dirty and with a foul smell, it was a letdown for my sister. As we were leaving, we observed another group of customers who echoed our sentiments, disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. And to top it off, there was a dog tied to a chain near the washroom, posing a potential hazard to patrons. Overall, my experience at Rajput Restaurant was not just bad, it was appalling. The lack of cleanliness, coupled with subpar food and poor customer service, leaves me with no desire to return.

Nestled in a tranquil and picturesque setting, Rajput Restaurant offers a serene escape for both body and mind. As I stepped into this oasis, I was immediately embraced by the soothing ambiance, a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comforts. The vast expanse of lush greenery surrounding the restaurant, along with the calming weather, created an atmosphere of relaxation that was truly blissful. The hospitality experience was unparalleled. The staff's courteous and attentive service elevated the entire dining experience. The menu featured a delectable spread of pure vegetarian multi-cuisine dishes. While the food was indeed good, the top-notch service that left a lasting impression. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and cared for, which further enhanced the overall dining experience. For travelers on the highway in search of a vegetarian haven, Rajput Restaurant is a must-visit. The convenient location and ample parking space make it an ideal stop for those seeking a delicious and peaceful respite during their journey. The restaurant remains open till late hours, ensuring that even late-night travelers can indulge in its inviting atmosphere and sumptuous offerings.

Food taste- Average. Food quality- Average. Ambience- Only good thing they have. Hospitality- I wish there was an option for negative rating. Services- Extremely Poor. Food Rates - High according to the services and quality of food they provide. They have customers just because people here don’t have other options nearly moreover they have tie up with private travels for stops. In my suggestion U can travel 3-4 kms more and get best quality food in affordable rates at Monika Restaurant, Karmad.

Replying to admin- Namaste 🙏🏻 Review belongs to your Restaurent o n sly. Kindly improve your services and train your staff properly rather than misleading your customers over genuine reviews. New Rajput restaurant or any other Restaurent is anytime better than yours.

Hahaha, what an irony. I still remember the COVID days when everyone was under lockdown and somehow trying to stay safe and healthy. I am working in nearby hospital as a doctor and I had good terms with some staff members ( names not to be disclosed )of this Restaurent. They used to call me for medical advise or COVID related bed issues or treatment and I was always available there for them and tried my best to help them in that critical COVID times. 2 weeks ago on Sunday afternoon I called one of the staff member and enquired about availability of South Indian dishes and AC hall as summers here are too harsh. On call they were very welcoming, no doubt. I reached Restaurent in 15 min after call with my other 3 colleagues ( doctors). We entered and sat in AC hall and waited for some staff member to attend us. After 10 min one member arrived and said,’ aap log yaha nai baith sakte AC hall me, hamare captain ne apko message dene bola hae ye.’ We were shocked, on enquiring they said ki ,’family baithi hae waha toh aap log nai baith sakte’. Was he in his senses? None of us drink or smoke. We had already lunch or dinner in that AC hall many times. Further he offered us open space to sit outside, like seriously? Is this your attitude towards doctors and civilised crowd ? Pathetic. Immediately he said ki ,’sir apko nai jamra hoga toh aap log kahi aur ja sakte ho.’ Without a word we left this place. That was a reward we got for all our free consultations and services towards society. And today the same person who insulted us and didn’t allowed us to sit in AC hall came to our hospital with his Father in Law for treatment. And he was purposely avoiding entering our cabin because of what he did to us was shameful oh his pet and unacceptable on ours. We are doctors and we have pledged to save lives in any situation and at any cost. We were still welcoming and assured him to provide best treatment. @Rajput Restaurent Owener and Staff members. U have a lesson, learn from it. Respect your customers and improve your services. God...
