We recently visited Sahyadri Restaurant and Dhaba on the Mahabaleshwar-Pratapgarh road, based on an Instagram reel review and a friend's recommendation. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
We arrived around 2:45 PM on a Sunday and ordered 8 chicken thalis and 1 Punjabi thali. After waiting for 20 minutes, we asked for an update and were told it would take another 10 minutes. This continued until 3:45 PM, but our order was still not served. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after us were being served their meals.
Despite expressing our frustration, there was no improvement in the service, and after multiple attempts to get an update, we were still left waiting. Some customers even left after waiting for their orders.
Finally, our food arrived at 4:00 PM. The taste of the food was just okay—not exceptional. The delay and poor service completely overshadowed the meal.

In general also, the hotel is not clean and properly maintained. It takes ages for them to clean tables and the non veg food smell inside main restaurant is simply unbearable (I do eat non-veg regularly).
I would also suggest that if you're returning from Pratapgad to Mahabaleshwar; avoid eating at the bottom. Instead cover the whole "ghaat" (I forgot the name) and enjoy your food in or around Mahabaleshwar. The quality of food and overall hygiene is much better there.
All in all, the hotel might look better from the road but I strongly recommend to avoid...
Read moreWe visited Hotel Sahyadri Restaurant for breakfast and had Puri Bhaji along with Misal Pav. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of authentic taste — a great way to start the day!
One of my friends also mentioned that their Mutton Thali is the highlight here and a must-try for non-vegetarian food lovers. So whether you're a vegetarian or non-vegetarian, this place has something tasty for everyone.
Located right in the middle of the mountains, the natural surroundings around the restaurant are simply beautiful. Calm atmosphere, fresh air, and scenic views make the experience even better.
If you love good food with a peaceful nature vibe, Hotel Sahyandri is surely...
