Sawli hotel GHAVNE NAASHTAa — Restaurant in Maharashtra

A small restaurant, right on the border of the two states of Goa and Maharashtra, just as one crosses over from Goa into Maharashtra. Run by a typical Maharashtrian family, it serves pretty good home type food, which is now no longer on the breakfast table of many Maharashtrians and Goans, but which was an integral part of their daily diet less about 30 years ago.

" Ghana " is their speciality , which is some what like the Kerela " Never Dosa " or a loose adaptation of an American waffle.

The breakfast is served quickly and efficiently, but is there is a rush, then the service suffers terribly.

The serving staff, is more than willing to do a few extra things for you. Decently priced as well.

We reached early morning 8am. It was our first visit and we were so delighted by the quality of breakfast. It was so yummy and authentic kokani marathi style Ghavne. Their combinations offered are typical and of home made quality. We felt like eating more and more. They have their ready to cook products to offer. The place is very light on pocket. Its ambience is very simple and without any decorations inside. Seating is okayish but it is a marvel in remote area on the highway. People keep on revisiting this place because of the authenticity. While heading towards Maharashtra from Goa we found this lovely place Hotel Sawli for having our morning breakfast. Ghavane served over here are so tasty, authentic & freshly prepared. It can be paired with various options available here such as chutney, usal, misal, ras (sweet coconut milk & jaggery mix) etc. They have simple airy ambience. Parking & washroom also available.
