Sidhu Punjabi Dhaba — Restaurant in Maharashtra

DISAPPOINTED!!!! Our group of friends have been visiting this dhaba for years, but the last 2 experiences not just this one but the last 2 experiences have been the same in the past 6 months ! The food quality has changed drastically, we went for dinner after 9pm and we ordered a masala papad , Gobi Manchurian, panner angara masala & Chicken angara handi with butter roti and butter wheat khulcha ! Masala papad was good and I would rate that a 5 star but everything that followed was utter disappointment !! Gobi Manchurian was all soggy and felt like soya sauce Gobi if that's even a dish 2.5 stars! Paneer for our main course was hard and felt like it wasn't fresh, the masala was yelling TOMATO no where close to angara masala , if you can't get the masala and the main ingredient of the dish right there is no saving it 1 star ! Chicken angara masala felt like the main ingredient in it again was tomato , all I'm saying is angara masala should have a kick of spice with the tomato gravy right? Here there is no kick , and chicken was dry and you could literally taste the sourness of the tomato in the gravy 1 star ! I respect food and I am quite forgiving with my food I eat it but this was unbearable! Oh I forgot the chicken tandoori , dry and it's filled with chat masala ! Lassi was sour ! We didn't even dare to order jalebi which has always been our favourite.

I wouldn't even want to try it again or give another chance here but a minimal expectation from a Punjabi dhaba is that they get their lassi and their tandoors right , but seriously dry chicken tandoor, sour lassi , and no heart in any of dishes! I miss the old siddu dhaba and the food it served , always felt the love in the food and in every bite we had !

It was one of my pit-stop location on the route but a total disappointment since last 2 visit.

I must say the quality and taste (I eat only veg in all my visit but non-veg would be good too)

Reason for less like:

All food listed are over priced and I really mean it. Both veg and non-veg are costing almost twice the actual (eg: palak paneer ₹260, chaas ₹80)

Before even giving order we enquired if they accept card payment on the cash counter and he said yes. After getting bill we gave card to waiter and he strongly said they accept cash only. Told him that we enquired it before order but he kept saying cash only. On going to counter he rejected card payment, but after reminding him about the discussion earlier he pulled out the machine. The owner (on cash counter and the waiter) were irritated and were saying why use card for small transaction and was saying we entered wrong pin but he himself punched wrong one as we asked to redo the transactions and handover the machine to me for pin.

A straight and strong NO for my henceforth visits.

Extremely Disappointed – Worst Experience Ever

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this hotel was truly unacceptable. From the moment I arrived, the service from both the staff and the owner was shockingly poor.

The staff were unprofessional, unhelpful, and at times even rude. Basic hospitality standards were completely lacking — no warm welcome, no clear information, and no willingness to assist with even the simplest requests. It felt like guests were more of an inconvenience than a priority.

Even more disappointing was the behavior of the hotel owner, who was dismissive and arrogant when I tried to raise concerns. Instead of listening or offering any solution, I was met with defensiveness and attitude. It’s incredibly disheartening when leadership sets such a negative tone — it trickles down to the rest of the staff.

The poor service overshadowed everything else, and I left feeling frustrated and disrespected. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you're seeking a place where guests are valued and treated with...
