A totally overhyped restaurant. Run by someone with purely monetary profits in his mind. Zero element of service is seen during our dinner. We waited for 45 minutes after reaching the counter to be able to pay for our dinner coupons. After that it took us 20 more minutes to get a table for four. After that it took one single waiter (who was also acting as table cleaner), clad in filthy soiled clothes with no connection to something called hygiene of food server, further 10 more minutes to clean our table which was used by previous customers. Then it took another 20 minutes for us to get our food served on our table. It was a total disappointment from quality and quantity point of view as far as value for money criteria is concerned. A limited chapathi thali plate came with only two chapatis, that too papm sized and paperthin ones ... 50 Rs. For each of such chapatis.... Same for limited thalipith thali and same for mini thali. In case of a limited thali they don't allow to take extra chapati or thalipith or roti, once you've finished off with the limited 2 quantities of chapatis or thalipiths. They force you to go for an another thali altogether ... There is no queue system for getting a seat to sit and eat. It's not a first come first serve system here. Chap sitting on cash counter is over proudy and treats the customers as if he is doing a great favour by letting the customer set their feet inside the restaurant.
Please don't go to this restaurant. All ratings given by anyone above one star are most probably fake ones or are paid ones.
Therefore .... DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE FOR EATING ANYTHING, AS ITS A LOOT AND...
Read moreFirst time I got to go this place as someone with me praised this place. This place even don't deserve a single star. In the purview of missing home food you may opt for Sugran once a while as the food taste is as good as homely food. Not anything new as to try for as an hotel. The name with tag 'BHARATIYA THALI' is misnomer as no food other than Maharashtriya thali is ever available. If you want try something new this restaurant is not for you. Let's review the service. My experience is very bad with the service. Start with the entry these people make you buy a coupon of unlimited thali though other variants available to buy. This reception guy is so rude that when I asked why don't they keep card swipe machine to keep Pace with the world. He offered my money back saying I can go elsewhere and what are the places he visited in world proudly. Seems he little care about the customer and their convenience. This guy keeps sitting there just to collect cash not caring at all about service. The staff serving food don't even have some basic etiquettes of serving. Serving staff gossiping about other South Indian customer's eating style with ours. They even don't recognize the sabzi from menu, as served a wrong sabzi in wrong bowl. The place was crowded with less ventilation that one cannot sit there with comfort. In short if you less care about service you may spend for regular kind of food here, the...
Read moreSolapur has been dear to my heart as I spent a decade in my college going time. Heard about Sugaran from my dear friend while transiting through Solapur & decided to check this place out. Fortunately, found a parking on street right across the hotel. The security guard promised me to keep an eye on my car. Well, we're welcomed by an elderly host at a counter with a smile. Requested him a Thali and a Thalipeeth for two of us. He looked quizzically and advised to drop Thalipeeth as it was included in Thali. Honesty. In a few minutes another elderly man brought two thalis. We dug in. Jawar roti was lovely. Baingan subzee was simply great. Kadhi was a tad sweet but okay. Groundnut Chutney, mirchee thhecha and Salad were very tasty. Simple yet hot piping food brought me to content. Most importantly, the gentleman & the lady who served us proved the concept of Atithi Devo Bhava. Polite with a disarming smile, they lovingly insisted that we eat more. And we did. It's not the mere decor which makes the impression. It's the people who run the establishment and the quality of food that decides the fate. I see a bright future for this homely, tiny...
