Review for The Oven
I had the pleasure of dining at The Oven today, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant’s charming rustic ambiance, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The wooden interiors, soft lighting, and cozy seating made it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal.
The food was simply outstanding! The pizzas were the highlight, served fresh from the oven with a perfectly crispy crust and an incredible blend of toppings. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients was unmistakable. The white sauce pasta was equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a deliciously rich and well-balanced sauce. To complement the meal, I had a refreshing mojito, which was perfectly mixed, and for dessert, the guava ice cream was a delightful treat—smooth, creamy, and the perfect way to end the meal.
One of the most memorable parts of our visit was meeting the owner, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He took the time to speak with us, sharing his passion for quality ingredients and even giving us a glimpse of his farms. It was truly inspiring to see his dedication to fresh, farm-to-table produce, which was clearly reflected in the flavors of the dishes. His warmth and hospitality added a personal touch to the dining experience, making it even more special. He also asked his chef to prepare dal khichdi for my 1 year old baby though it was not listed on the menu.
Overall, The Oven is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality Italian cuisine in a cozy, rustic setting. The combination of great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a spot I’d gladly return to. Highly...
Read moreWe had a really bad experience here. Looking at the 4.2star review, we decided to hop in and have some pizza after long drive from Mumbai to Pawna lake as it is on the way. The ambience was awesome. All wooden structure, in the middle of nature. We browsed through menu which was written on wooden sheet. First of all, there was no person in charge. When we ordered a pizza, the person said pizza is not available as the cook is making dough and will take around 1-1:30 hrs to get ready and then will take another 20-25 mins for pizza. Then we decided to order soup, even then he denied. Whatever we asked his reply was "No sir abhi nai hai". Lastly we asked for Tawa Icecream, and again here he said only 2 flavours were available, rest "Nai hai sir". We even asked for if they accept card payment, we got same answer, but while waiting for our Tawa Icecream, he just swiped a card from another customer!!
Don't know why the staffs behaving this way?? Maybe the owner must have not paid their dues?? It seems to be so, cos every item in menu we asked, the person answers "No"
Later we decided to wait as the ambience was cool and breezy. We ordered 2pizzas and fries. At same time another customer came in. They too faced same "No", but he called someone, maybe manager/owner and everything worked for him, like a VIP. We waited for more than an hour but our food was served to the other customer!! When questioned the person/cook/boy he said will have to wait for another 30mins.
That was the moment we left the place!! If the owner is reading this review, please do look into this matter seriously and pls do cater the needs of your staff!!
Giving a star only for the ambience!! Visit date: 30 Dec...
Read moreAfter a hard, steep, winding drive towards Lake Pawna, you'll come across a large wooden structure with a big board that says The Oven. Do yourself a favour, park your vehicle and enter it. We have tasted many different pizzas and pastas in metropolitan cities, each with different styles and tastes which we rate highly. But what sets this place apart is it's atmosphere. You'll hear peaceful music as you hear the birds chirp around you, you'll see a few musical instruments kept which you are free to play, you'll find 2 pet rabbits and a huge kayak inside along with a very social and interactive owner. After a long drive far away from home, you'll for a few moments feel that you're home. The menu is painted on irregular, thick wooden discs, the seats are stumps of wood. Nearly everything here makes it feel like a wooden villa! You'll see the kitchen and the cooks right in front of you and you can see them cook your meal, there's no seperate room for the kitchen. The owner being a friendly person encouraged and let us make our own pizza from the scratch after hearing out whim. While the food is being cooked, you can enjoy the green hilly view since there are no windows, or you can just go into the other side of the room and feel the thrill of looking at the ground 2 storeys down through the glass floor. You'll set your gaze on the big plantation just next to the hotel where they grow their own oyester mushrooms for use. The restaurant had only 2 other customers when we went there, but even if there were a few more, it surely wouldn't have disturbed the peaceful atmosphere after the harsh drive. Overall if you're near Lake pawna or going there from lohagad, be sure to stop by and...
