Urban Tadka is an urban themed restaurant located in Padgha, Mumbai Nashik HIghway, near Kalyan. The outlet has a lot of space, has a great long lawn, indoor table games, smoking area, outdoor seating and indoor air conditioned seating as well. Seating arrangements are made perfectly, lighting and ambience is great indoors as well as outdoors. The restaurant shares a very youthful interior with a bar section indoors. Service is fast, waiters provide their ultimate attention to the tables. Waiters are polite and understand the need and recommend the best out of the menu. . . What we ordered at The Urban Tadka? Butter Garlic Prawns : Fried Prawns tossed in a creamy and cheesy Butter Garlic Sauce. Fish Tikka (Basa) : Tandoori Basa Fish filets coated with spicy and tangy marinade. Chicken Changezi : Soft and Tender with bone pieces of chicken cooked with spicy red gravy. Seetiwali Subzi : A mix of Beans and Paneer cooked under pressure in a wholesome thick gravy. Butter Naan : Soft Bread with butter coated on top Mocktails : Banarasi Jaam, Virgin Sangaria, After Glow, Red Monsoon, Sun Breeze
. . Urban Tadka never fails to amaze their guests and audience with their lovely and delicious food. They provide a proper mixture of quality and quantity. Butter Garlic Prawns were the best starter I've ever had till now, the homogenous sauce of butter, cream, cheese, garlic and what more paired with soft prawns just feels heavenly ! Even the Fish Tikka was perfectly cooked. The fish they used, Basa, was falling apart and melting as soon as you bit into it. The marinade was different than usual, more flavourful and more delicious. Chicken Changezi was a new addition to their menu. The waiter recommended us to try this out, and yes it did match the expectations. The with bone chicken was tender and succulent, flavors were clearly notable till the last piece of meat. The gravy was thick and rich with a load of flavors and spices, which was greatly complimenting with the chicken. Seetiwali Subzi was a bit of a twist for us, it was a great homogeneous mixture of beans such as rajma, white peas, black chanas, paneer and other beans. The gravy had a slight sweet taste to it, but was way better than what other restaurant use at this price point and upper. The naan were properly cooked, there were no stretchy or chewy bits. It was cooked perfectly and soft. And to finish of the food, every mocktail at the urban tadka just brings a cherry on top. Every mocktail is refreshing and brings out the best flavors when drink as a side with the food, complimenting the flavors explicitly. . . Overall, will really insist and recommend you to try their Butter Garlic Prawns and Seetiwala Subzi if you visit any of the Urban Tadka outlets. Service is absolutely great, no doubt about that. Urban Tadka at Padgha is far more than just a typical highway stop—it’s a welcome and vibrant pit-stop that successfully blends the charm of a rustic Punjabi dhaba with the amenities of a modern family restaurant. Its strategic location, right near the Padgha Toll Naka on the Mumbai-Nashik highway, makes it an ideal break spot for anyone traveling the route.
The ambiance is one of the restaurant's strongest points. It boasts a spacious setting with both indoor and outdoor seating options, featuring a pleasant lawn area. The interior frequently leans into a nostalgic 'desi' vibe, with décor touches like old Hindi movie posters that add a fun, colorful character. For families and travelers needing to stretch their legs, the presence of amenities like a open spaces and corridor is a huge bonus, ensuring a relaxing and engaging break.
The food, which is the heart of the experience, focuses on robust and authentic North Indian cuisine. Dishes like the Dal Makhani, various chicken kebabs (such as the Chicken Banjara), and rich mutton preparations are praiseworthy for their quality, flavor, and generous portions. The food strikes the right balance between authentic tadka and a comforting, home-style taste. The service is generally fast and attentive, a critical factor for highway dining where time is precious.
While the prices are on the higher side compared to a simple roadside eatery, the overall package—great food, beautiful ambience, and extensive amenities—justifies the cost. For a truly satisfying and memorable meal that serves as an excellent pause on a long journey, Urban Tadka at Padgha is highly recommended. It stands out as a reliable and high-quality dining destination on this highway stretch.
