Disappointing Experience at Vittal Kamat Restaurant

I had a very disappointing experience at Vittal Kamat Restaurant during my recent visit. I went there for breakfast, expecting good quality food, but it turned out to be quite the opposite.

The food quality was extremely poor—the dishes were bland, cold, and lacked freshness. Items like idlis and dosas felt stale, and the chutneys had no flavor. The south indian filter coffee was worst with no taste just warm water.

The cleanliness of the restaurant was also below standard. The tables were not properly cleaned, and the overall hygiene of the dining area was disappointing.

Considering the reputation of Vittal Kamat sir, this experience was truly underwhelming. Definitely not worth the money or time. I hope they seriously work on improving their food quality, service, and cleanliness. Wouldn’t recommend...

Food quality was average. Both uthappa and Vitthal wada was tastes average. Already expensive at the same time quality also poor... So dispointing...

I recently once again visited this hotel and overall, the experience was decent. The quality of food was good, fresh, and tasty, and the service was also acceptable. However, one major disappointment was with their tea service. They charge ₹30 for a single cup of tea, which is understandable if the service and presentation match the price. But instead of serving in a proper cup and saucer, they provide it in disposable cups, which feels very unprofessional and disheartening. This is a good place to stop for snacks or a light lunch on the highway NH48 between Satara and Pune. Vithal Kamat is known for the superior quality of their food and services at the highway eateries. Apart from the tasty snacks like Batata Wada and Pao, Idlis, Dosas, filter coffee and tea, their washrooms are also very clean and usable unlike the other roadside dhabas which do not bother to keep their washrooms clean. Their restaurants are also located close to a reputable petrol pump. About 200 meters ahead there is a good HPCL pump.
