The Vithal Kamat franchise is something that ha sbeen killing the brand slowly in the last few years. The food in most of these named palces, is worst than road side food. There seems to be no connect with the taste that the brand intends to offer as an experience to the customer and what the chefs at the outlets can provide.

This one in particular had the worst sweetest Paneer Butter Masala that one could have eaten. There was copius amounts of jaggery used in the red gravy, making it terrribly sweet. The paneer was not fresh at all and one can get only 3-4 pieces on this whole big bowl of sweet slurry

Wangachye bharit (Baingan bharta) in marathi style was nowhere close to what it should be. Adding crushed peanuts to anythign doesn't make it marathi. The traditional dish doesn't have any leafy onion and other veggies mixed. But this was the case here to increase the qty.

The Basic Chaas was made from sour curd and had the stench of all the stuff stored in the reforgerator. Its been a few years that I have stopped visiting these outlets, and I think it was a good rule that shouldn't have broken at the behest of a colleague.

One of the only two Kamat restaurants on Pune-Sambhaji Nagar highway. A must visit place if you are a regular traveller on this route. They serve good quality food, use good quality cooking oil and provide excellent service. The washrooms were also very neat & clean and there was ample parking space with sun shade to keep your car cool. The service was amazingly quick and we finished our lunch in just 25 mins. They also allow home/outside food which in my opinion is an excellent decision. One should allow home cooked food at a restaurant since people usually carry food while doing long journeys. Suitable locations; Bright, airy & spacious halls; right & consistent taste; clean toilets & reasonable rates - all these make any Vitthal Kamat restaurant an excellent stoppage point during extended tours.

The one on Nagar Aurangabad road is identically on the same lines. We got a steaming hot & freshly prepared idli. Time taken from order to delivery was also extremely reasonable.
