RECOMMENDATION: You should go if you are the 'tea and singju-kelichana- paknam' lover. Both family and couples can visit this place.
The ambience there was the proof I needed to calm my nervous soul. Great customer service and down to earth nature with an ever ready smile. The idea of using banana leaves is just awesome. Let me be honest I havent tasted the entire menu but after tasting a few I know the rest will be good.
Here are my views... PROs: Great place, spacious and full of positive energy. Heaven for tea lovers; from 'Heimang' tea to lemongrass tea, tons of options. I would recommend others to start with the small serving of tea first if you havent tasted it and then you can move on to the bigger serving. Singju was just great. You will get seasonal singju. I got 'lafu singju' and it was awesome. 'Kelichana' was fingerlickingly good.
CONs: I dont know which type of singju or which kelichana is being served. Paknam was too cold for the tastebud to handle. The bench was a bit dusty (this is okay considerimg how dusty our Manipur is. I dont mind wiping it out with the tissue paper)
SUGGESTIONS: I would love to see the menu to a bit more detailed, like which type of singju or which type of kelichana you are serving. I would love to see more types of paknam on...
Read moreIts not the Dweller i knew of anymore. I think in the quest of profit, the ethos of indigenuity is long forgotten.
If one wants to know the real inflation rate, one can visit here. The servings of ice tea L size doesnt seem the normal L size standard. The glass is definitely an M size and that too filled almost half with ice cubes. Its ridiculously high priced at ₹90, which is even more than the MRP of a 2.25L soft drink in the market
We ordered the assorted bora platter priced at ₹140 but was served the Aloo and lafoo tharo finger fries which is priced ₹80. It felt more of deceit rather than service.
May be the shop has grown big and no longer connected to roots anymore. May be i am the odd man who found it hard to swallow the truth. Or may be that people have stopped observing the facts and complaint when aggrieved.
Its no longer a goto place for a quick inexpensive evening...
Read moreIf you wish to have some really different flavours of tea, make sure you visit this place. They've many herbal and fruit based teas. It's worth trying if you wish to try something different. Medicinal teas are available too. Located at Lamphel Sanakeithel, just opposite to the Officers' Club. Spacious and also open seatings available. All authentic Manipuri snacks available. Try the Chakhao Muffins ( muffins made using the black rice). The only thing the staff are missing is the "Suggestions" For a first timer like me, I will appreciate if they can suggest what's good and what goes well together. Like snack and tea suggestions. Otherwise, it's superb. Good to see...
