I recently visited the Umiam Lake Viewpoint and attempted to use the washroom at a nearby hotel. The attendant was not only rude but also demanded a ₹50 fee for its use. Citing the Indian Sarais Act of 1867, which mandates that hotels provide free access to restrooms and drinking water to all individuals, regardless of whether they are customers , I chose not to use the facility.

Additionally, other reviews have highlighted poor food quality at this establishment.
