Jiva is a renowned name across Meghalaya, and on the way to Shillong, you'll come across their first restaurant, nestled amidst the breathtaking lush greenery of the region. This scenic retreat is a must-stop for tourists, offering respite and a delightful culinary experience. 🌲 Amidst the stunning natural beauty, Jiva Veg stands as a sanctuary for travelers. Whether you're battling mountain sickness or simply need a break from your journey, this restaurant is the perfect spot to rejuvenate. The serene surroundings and fresh mountain air add to the charm of the experience. 🥪 Vegetarian Delights: Despite being a vegetarian establishment, Jiva Veg attracts visitors from all walks of life. The menu boasts a range of delectable options, but their sandwiches and dosas hold a special place in the hearts of many. With each bite, you'll understand why these dishes have garnered such popularity. ☕ Warmth in a Cup: To combat the sudden cold weather, we opted for chai and coffee. Sipping on these warm beverages provided much-needed comfort, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the serene ambiance. 🍮 Sweet Beginnings: No meal is complete without dessert, and I chose to indulge in the divine delight of Gulab Jamun. This sweet treat marked the perfect beginning to our journey, leaving a lasting impression on our taste buds. Jiva Veg in Nongpoh, Meghalaya, offers more than just vegetarian cuisine. It's a haven where travelers can pause, refresh, and enjoy a delicious meal amidst nature's embrace.

One of the Best place to stop for snacks while travelling from Guwahati to Shillong or vice-versa. We stopped on our way back to Guwahati and I assure you it is one of the best places we had our snacks in, They literally have changed the meaning of Highway Stops and are doing a great job. Here is a comprehensive review of the place. 1) Location: The place is located almost in the middle of your trip from Guwahati to Shillong and vice versa, It is right on the main road so you will not miss it. 2)Menu: The menu is pure veg but you have a lot of choices to choose from. We ordered dosa, sandwiches, chow-mien, tea and bread butter. Advice do not miss the dosa's they are awesome. 3)Food: The main reason to surely make a stop here is there food quality which is amazing, Everything was very good in taste and up to the mark as far as quality is concerned and as said before the Dosa's were amazing. 4) Service: Service was very quick and efficient, our order was placed and brought quickly the staff was really courteous and helpful. 5)Cleanliness: The place was spotlessly clean, The bathrooms were amazingly clean even though so much rush was there and always smelled fresh. The restaurant was also very clean and hygienic. 6) Overall: It was a great experience stopping there with good food and amazing staff and lovely ambiance for a roadside place it was awesome. Do visit if you get a chance it is worth your while.

We started our journey from this restaurant and ended here too. First time when we visited it was crowded and they were writing names for the table and there was a wait for 10-15 mins. 2nd time there was no wait, we got the table immediately. Their services are pretty good not the best but good. Food we order while our two times visiting 1. Tea 2. Masala Dosa 3. Plain Aloo Paratha 4. Veg Momo 5. Chilli Paneer 6. Chilli Potato 7. Hakka Noodles Food was just perfect not too spicy, so every tourist can eat. Prices were not too high either. Its affordable. Rest of the food was good, but the main highlight for me was Momo. Filling was good, soft and the chutney was perfect. Location of the restaurant was good too. Place was pretty neat and clean. There washroom was perfectly clean. They take cards and cash but no online payment. Dosa was not good, chutney and sambhar was basically tasteless. Need to improve alot. So you can skip that. Chinese food was only I liked alot, so if you like spicy food you can atleast go for that. But the Milk Tea is must try there, the one of the best you'll have in Meghalaya.

Excellent in terms of food quality, quantity, pricing, ambience, service, staff, restrooms, everything is good. The only sad thing about the place is that it's a Veg restaurant, which is a most negative part for non-veg lovers. Coming to a detailed review of the place, we just love it. Most of my friends and family or colleagues do not miss visiting the place for a quick bite or snacks or a cuppa or maybe for elaborate lunch/brunch or early dinner 🍝🥗. My husband's a regular visitor, as he often visits Shillong for official purposes, so he stops by for breakfast and a cup of coffee. Food is really good, hygienic and convenient. Prices are good too. You can order both South Indian and North Indian food. But only Veg items are available as it is apure veg restaurant. Its spacious, even though it is always packed fully, you can get a place to sit as it has a lot of space. Special arrangements for infants are also there, such as high rise chairs etc. A very special mention i would like to give to the restrooms. Its exceptionally clean. Overall the place is a highly recommended one.

Jiva veg is a pure vegetarian restaurant located on the Guwahati - Shillong highway in the Nongpoh area, which is open from 7.00 AM to 9.00 PM, daily. It is very famous among the tourists and the locals who wish to dine in a clean vegetarian restaurant. They serve Indian, Asian and Chinese food varieties in their menu , with options for Jain food, Vegan and Gluten free options in the Breakfast, Lunch, Brunch and Dinner . The food and beverages quality, taste, ambiance etc is all good. Plenty of parking is available. Toilets are clean. Take away provision of food is there. They take the order and serve the food on the tables. Cash and digital payments are all accepted. While going from Guwahati to Shillong or Cherrapunji, this place is a welcome break , except that at times there is a waiting for seats.

This place is a must visit while on the way from Guwahati to Shillong or vice versa. We ordered three main items(Cheese Masala Dosa, Grilled paneer sandwich and Masala Aloo Paratha) and Lemon Tea to go along with it. Cheese Masala Dosa was great. It costed ₹210 which i believe was slightly overpriced. The star of the show was Grilled Paneer Sandwich. It was generally filled with paneer stuffing along with some other items. This is a must try. You get fries along with it and a tandoori mayonnaise I believe in that platter. This costed ₹200 which i believe was justified. The Aloo Paratha was Abysmal. Please don't order it! It costed ₹130. Very poor experience. Overall I would say the experience was quite good. You have to be careful what you order on the menu. That's the key!
