Pizza Barn, Shillong — Restaurant in Meghalaya

We were really looking forward to the indigenous pizzas at pizza barn. What we weren't prepared for was an extremely poorly made, low quality pizza that used a pre-made crust, bad cheese and almost no marinara under it. We ordered the naga pork pizza and the smoked pork pizza, and while the toppings were alright, nothing else about the pizza justified the ₹600+ price tag. Their claim of making "wood fired, handmade" pizza we realised was just clever marketing, considering that they didn't even make the dough for the base, and that base was still raw even after waiting nearly 25 minutes for our pizza. The vibe at the restaurant was depressing too, with it being in the outskirts of shillong on the side of a road which at night was dark and received little traffic. Without the hustle and bustle outside, and customers inside, we were forced to engage with the bland decor and depressing license free instrumental music, all of which somehow made the pizza even worse. Before I go about making my observations, I would like to mention that we, as a family, have travelled extensively and know what to expect from a pizza joint!

The least, one would expect is for the pizzas to have liberal toppings, cheese, and if not copious, some amount of veggies, especially, when it is over 1000rs, but that wasn't the case. I could very easily count the number of chicken cubes!! They weren't many😄!

The service was late. The guy waiting on us was practically unavailable for the most part. We were left to our own devices. I ended walking upto the kitchen to find a huddle of people chatting away to glory. The coke had no fiss! The mojitos were without herbs! Lets just call it juice or whatever! Since we were getting late due to the service, I asked one lady (again finding her busy on her cell; and the guy not being there) to pack the leftovers. Ordered 2 pizzas , they tasted nothing like pizza. Was super disappointed. There was nothing, was super dry, they claimed to have put marinara sauce, but honestly it was completely dry!!

Anyway ma'am no point giving you a feedback because honestly you are not ready to receive one. Just to clarify we got the pizza packed because we payed 1200 bucks for food we barely ate, so we would have rather given it to someone else, so don't make it sound like we dint want to pay and your pizza was out of world or something, atleast be honest to yourself.
