Malvan Tadka — Restaurant in Mumbai

Visited this place on Saturday afternoon. This place is pretty empty with 3 to 4 table occupancy.

The ambience is pretty decent with the Family AC section on the ground floor.

Parking would be very difficult, given that the outlet is on the busy main road.

We tried the following items here

1. Bombil rawa fry (5/5)
2. Mutton thali (3.5/5)
3. Pomfret thali (2/5)
4. Surmai/ King fish fry (4.5/5)
5. Sol kadhi (5/5)

Bombil rawa fry was crispy and tasty. Full marks for this.

Sol khadi was spiced accurately to the liking. Generally, if it is less spiced, then it becomes sweet (due to the sweetness of coconut) and if spiced more, it becomes spicy. Here it was a perfect balanced and thick consistency.

Now Mutton pieces in Mutton thali were hard. Only a handful of restaurants realize that the mutton always needs to be cooked slowly and for a long time to make it soft and tasty. Wouldn't recommend Mutton items here, unless you are ok with hard mutton pieces.

The worst part was Pomfret fry in the Pomfret thali. It was not at all fresh and stinking. However, when we complained, the waiter was kind enough to immediately get it replaced with Surmai fry, which was fresh.

Most likely, we visited the restaurant during the end of June, when the fishermen don't venture into the sea to catch fish. So that might be a reason why the Pomfret was not fresh. However, the restaurant should have not served us that, especially when we are paying 500 bucks...

Not Best Place to Dine , you are made to wait for more than 2 hours and extremely poor service, too much loud noises, each table occupies the table for more than 2 hours without realisations of others in queue waiting for dining. The boy at the main counter is careless and least interested to offer his service, people randomly walks inside without following the queue discipline, the entire working staff is responsible , the waiter and steward is serving one table for 2 hours, that means it’s a team work to limit their services. Also check the online order is the self- interest of the entire staff. The owner of Malian Tadka is loosing business due to limited service offered. Besides checking the review . Please check the CCTV footage to see the huge economic loss , families and others waits for the name Malvan Tadka for more than hours ...

This Malvan Tadka branch is located near Suman Nagar and has a great variety of seafood options. We tried their Crab Lollipop which was really delicious and also had their Prawns Thali which was amazing too. The service could have been a bit better since there was only one waiter serving for the entire family section.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness and hygiene standards were very low as we spotted 2-3 cockroaches near our table and on our couch as well. One of those cockroaches almost came in contact with our hands and back which was quite disgusting.
