Disappointing Experience at Nandan Thali Restaurant – A Birthday Celebration Ruined
I recently visited Nandan Thali Restaurant with my family to celebrate a special occasion – a birthday that we had all been looking forward to. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a joyous gathering turned into a deeply disappointing experience due to subpar service, poor food quality, and an overall lackluster ambiance. I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others who might consider dining here for their special occasions.
Service: Unprofessional and Unattentive From the moment we arrived, the staff’s attitude set a negative tone for the evening. The host seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged us as we entered. Despite having made a reservation well in advance, we were made to wait for nearly 20 minutes before being seated, with no explanation or apology offered. Once seated, the service only worsened. Our server was inattentive, rarely checking on our table, and we had to repeatedly flag them down for basic requests like water refills or additional cutlery. The staff appeared disorganized, and there was a noticeable lack of coordination, with orders being mixed up at nearby tables as well. For a restaurant that claims to specialize in family dining, the lack of warmth and hospitality was shocking, especially for a birthday celebration.
I have visited Nandan Thali Restaurant with family for birthday celebration. But the staff, food quality, ambience etc everything ruined our birthday celebration as worst service from staff, undercooked food. I will never go there again and recommended others to avoid such place. Write a detailed review for this scenario

Food Quality: Undercooked and Unappetizing
The food, which we had hoped would be the highlight of the meal, was a major letdown. We ordered a variety of dishes from their thali menu, expecting the authentic and flavorful experience the restaurant advertises. Unfortunately, the reality was far from it. Several items, including the rice and certain vegetable curries, were undercooked, with the rice being noticeably hard and the vegetables lacking the tenderness you’d expect from a well-prepared dish. The gravies were bland, lacking the depth of flavor we had anticipated, and some dishes tasted as though they had been sitting out for too long. The breads (rotis and naans) were cold and chewy, further adding to our disappointment. When we brought the issue of undercooked food to the staff’s attention, they dismissed our concerns with a half-hearted apology and made no effort to rectify...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent experience at this restaurant was truly disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service felt disorganized and indifferent. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, it took an unreasonably long time for someone to take our order, and we had to repeatedly request basic things like water and cutlery.
Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the poor service. Several dishes were overly salty, or simply lacked flavor. One item we ordered arrived cold, and when we pointed this out, the staff seemed uninterested in correcting it. There was little attention to presentation or quality, which was surprising given the restaurant’s reputation.
What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability or any effort to address our concerns. Feedback was met with a shrug, and there was no apology or gesture to make things right.
Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but sadly this one left us feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I hope the management takes steps to improve both the food quality and the...
Read moreOn April 13, 2025 we visited Nandan Thali located at Nandur Naka in Nashik. The reason for our extremely low rating was the poor quality of food, lackluster ambience, and unsatisfactory customer service.
Upon arrival, we noticed empty water bottles scattered in front of the restaurant, along with a pile of garbage.
There was no welcoming greeting as we entered, and the absence of background music contributed to an uncomfortable atmosphere.
The food quality was disappointing. The wheat roti was inadequately cooked, and the vada in the dahi wada dish was not fresh, indicating it had been frozen for an extended period. The vegetable gravies lacked flavor, and the kadhi was also unappetizing. Additionally, no buttermilk was offered.
After making some inquiries, I learned that the management and ownership had changed. I had previously enjoyed a delicious thali at this establishment about two years ago, but my experience in 2025 was far from satisfactory.
In summary, we felt that our expenditure of Rs. 1000 was wasted.
I advise against spending...
