Best Misal in India.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a misal pav restaurant that took my taste buds on a flavorful journey through Maharashtra's culinary delights. Here's my short review of this fantastic establishment.
The restaurant, aptly named "Shamsundar Misal," is a haven for misal pav enthusiasts. From the moment I stepped in, the aroma of freshly ground spices and simmering lentils wafted through the air, instantly whetting my appetite. The ambiance was cozy and inviting.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the misal pav itself. The misal at this restaurant was a symphony of flavors. The sprouted lentils were cooked to perfection, retaining a pleasant bite while absorbing the spices and seasonings. The gravy had just the right balance of heat, tang, and richness, making each spoonful an explosion of taste. The toppings, from the finely chopped onions to the aromatic coriander leaves, added freshness and texture, elevating the dish to new heights.
The pav served alongside the misal was soft and pillowy, a perfect complement to the spicy lentil curry. It was lightly toasted and buttered, enhancing its flavor and providing a delightful contrast to the robustness of the misal.
In terms of value for money, shamsundar misal offered a generous serving of misal pav that left me feeling completely satisfied. The portion sizes were ample, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. The pricing was reasonable, considering the authentic flavors and the overall...
Read moreHad asked for recommendations from Nashikkars, after which then I took my friends here on the way to Valunj. And this place had literally the worst "misal" I've ever tasted. One bite and I was like what is this?? I thought I was being choosy or something, and then the other 3 shared the same feedback, and I was relieved - nothing was wrong with me, but the "misal". One friend described it has "tumeric water in cooked matki and a *** rassa". He was emotional at the time, we all were. It was the first leg of our trip, and Nishikkars love hyping up their * misal, and this was the result. I'd rate this place lower, if not for the availability of such a feature and the "cocktail" they had - a mix of sweet lassi and taak (buttermilk) that I downed glasses of with my shame and sorrows. We managed to get our spirits up by engaging in other recreational activities. And we made sure to stop on the way back for a good misal. Its name is Aakash misal house, and it's near Khed ghat, Rajgurunagar. Highly recommended. Spacious, hygienic, wide...
Read moreHad planned to have Misal Pav during a short trip to Nashik. We got late while returning from Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, it was post 3 pm. The famous Sadhna Misal Pav gets closed at 3 pm. I asked few locals they recommend Shamsundar Misal.
It was an amazing experience for me having tasted the Misal Pav for the first time. The shop is not very big but the atmosphere is positive. The staff is alert to your requirements and order time is very minimal.
We ordered Misal Pav along with Lassi, the preparation, taste, presentation of meals was very good. Had taken additional pav and additional sprouts( an important ingredient in the Misal) on additional charges. Cut Onion and lemon is given as free accompanied. Curry was available unlimited.
Since we had lunch a bit late i.e around 3:30 pm, the place was not too crowded. Maybe during lunch time ( i.e.around 1300-1330) the crowd could be bigger. Rates are also very reasonable. The owner of place was very patient in explaining us the ingredients of Misal. The Overall...
