Nestled on Rao Tula Ram Marg inside the Karnataka Sangha building, the restaurant’s bright, canteen-style décor feels welcoming and unpretentious. Wooden tables and chairs are neatly arranged in an indoor, family-friendly space. Even during peak hours you’ll find the place buzzing with South Indian food lovers—on weekends you may share a table with strangers, but the friendly atmosphere more than makes up for it .

Service

Speed: Super-fast service—even a full house rarely means a long wait for your order .

Staff: Attentive and courteous; they’ll happily explain regional specialties if you ask.

Refills & Takeaway: Unlimited chutney and sambhar refills, plus smooth takeaway options.

Menu Variety Although best known for Karnataka specialties, you’ll find a pan-South offering:

Dosas & Uttapams: Plain, masala, ghee/butter masala, Mysore masala, and even Coconut Rava dosa.

Tiffin Thali: A generous platter of idli, vada, upma, chutneys, and sambhar.

Breakfast & Beyond: Bisi Bele Bath, pongal, curd rice, filter coffee, lassi, buttermilk, and traditional sweets like Mysore Pak .

Food Quality & Taste

Crispiness: Dosas emerge piping hot with perfectly crisp edges and a soft interior.

Flavors: The Mysore masala dosa had a balanced heat from red chutney paste; the Coconut Rava dosa was laced with coconut aroma and mild spices—“out of this world,” as one food guide put it .

Authenticity: Recipes seem true to home-style Karnataka cooking, bringing that nostalgia of homemade meals .

Portion Sizes & Value Portions are generous—one large dosa easily satisfies a hearty appetite. At roughly ₹500 for two (including coffee/dessert), this spot offers excellent bang for your buck .

Hygiene & Cleanliness Tables and floors were clean. The open-kitchen vibe lets you glimpse the dosa-tawa action, reinforcing confidence in food preparation.

Overall Impression: Karnataka Food Centre delivers on every front—swift, friendly service; high-quality, authentic South Indian fare; hearty portions; and wallet-friendly pricing. Whether you’re craving a classic masala dosa or exploring lesser-known Karnataka specialties, this decades-old gem in R.K. Puram is a must-visit for dosa devotees and South Indian cuisine...

I recently visited the Karnataka Food Centre in Rama Krishna Puram, Delhi, and I must say, it was a culinary delight! As a fan of South Indian cuisine, I was excited to try out this popular eatery.

Ambience The restaurant has a simple and unassuming decor, but the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly cooked dosas and idlis. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with comfortable seating and prompt service.

Food The menu is extensive, with a wide range of Karnataka specialties, including dosas, idlis, vadas, and more. I ordered the Masala Dosa, which was crispy and flavorful, with a generous serving of spicy potato filling. The Sambar was delicious, with jus

Service The service was prompt and courteous, with the staff happy to recommend dishes and answer questions about the menu.

Value The prices are very reasonable, with most dishes under ₹200. The portion sizes are generous, making it a great value for money.

Verdict Overall, I highly recommend the Karnataka Food Centre to anyone looking for authentic and delicious South Indian cuisine in Delhi. Don't miss the Masala Dosa and the filter coffee!

I visited this place for the third time this week. The previous two times were ok. The food was ok and the service was nothing special to mention. The last two times, I went in the night so I had to wait over an hour. But this time, I went in the evening. There was only one narrow table near the entrance which was vacant and both me and my friend sat there and ordered. As the table was too small, we wanted to change the table to a bigger one. So when when wither table got empty, we were about to move places and we saw that the waiter read coming with our order. So we asked him to please move the order to the other table with us. We sat in the new table and the waiter kept the food and then started to rudely lecture us. That we should have changed the table before the food comes otherwise the service at the first table will be late by 30 min and then the visitors in that table will wonder why their food ws getting late. He went on in such a rude manner when the other guests and servers were looking on. I said sorry and I will keep this in mind the next time. All this was because we changed a table to a more comfortable one. Later when we were having the food, we found a long strand of hair in the red chutney and we complained. They took the bowl and replaced it with another one and didn't even bother to give an explanation. So with these two incidents, we were a bit disgusted. So while paying, we talked with the cashier about this and he didn't even feel necessary to apologise or even give an assuring word. He was not even taking it seriously and didn't even try to say that they would try to improve. Seriously disappointed with this behaviour of the staff and the experience. Some of the chefs and the servers were not wearing hairnets. But anyway, I am never going back again. Better to go for other south Indian places where they treat customers better. Food is...

We had ragi dosa which was good. The idli sambhar was nice too. Then rava masala dosa was good and delicious. Tried a maharaja thali south India with pooris. Scrumptious and tasty. Food is good. Fast service. Rates are decent. We were late from celebrating bhai dooj yday & on our way back stopped at the Karnataka food center for a takeaway. We ordered for vegetables Uttapam, mysore masala dosa, onion rava masala dosa, idlis, vada, sambhar & chutneys. Firstly it was jam packed with 30 min waiting. For our order to be packed we waited for 40 minutes. They have increased the vada prices to Rs 100 for 2 vadas with Sambhar & likewise prices have increases but on the flip side quality is deteriorated. On returning home we warmed them up. The mysore masala dosa was soggy, so was the onion rava masala dosa. The idlis were soft. The Sambhar was watery. The coconut & tomato chutneys both were diluted to a large extent. There was no dal visible in the Sambhar at all. All in all except for idli & Sambhar, the dosas were very average. The sambhar was not good. They had much better quality pre corona times. While packing they tend to pack less amount of Sambhar & chutneys so you need to ask them for more. Another time we got uttapam and vada packed for home. Nice sized vadas. Uttapam was decent. Sambhar again they tend to pack less and you really have to request them to add more sambhar and chutneys. It’s mostly crowded towards evenings. Prices are up now and u have to wait for 20 minutes atleast to get your order ready. Nice food. Idli was nice. Vadas they have made very small. 4 pieces. Sambhar was good. Maharaja thali was good but initially it was unlimited. You could take more poori, papad, rice, veggies but sweet was one time. This time they charged for extra poori and papad at Rs 10 per piece. Their manager is always rude and argues. Doesn’t listen at all. I
