Food Mantra has become a reliable staple for our family's takeout nights. While it doesn't always reach the heights of culinary brilliance, it consistently delivers satisfying meals at reasonable prices. Their menu is extensive, offering a wide range of Indian dishes, from classic curries to tandoori specialties and Indo-Chinese fusion options. This variety caters to everyone's tastes, making it a convenient choice when ordering for a group with diverse preferences. We've tried a number of dishes from Food Mantra, and while some have been more impressive than others, the overall quality has been consistently decent. Their butter chicken is a safe bet – creamy and flavorful, with tender pieces of chicken. The garlic naan is usually soft and pillowy, perfect for soaking up the sauce. We also appreciate their vegetable biryani, which is fragrant and well-spiced, although sometimes it can be a bit oily. Their tandoori items are generally good, though occasionally the chicken can be slightly dry. One area where Food Mantra shines is their portion sizes. They are quite generous, making their meals good value for money. We often find ourselves with leftovers, which are just as enjoyable the next day. Their delivery service is also generally prompt and efficient, although there have been occasional delays during peak hours. The online ordering system is user-friendly, and they often have special offers and discounts, which is a bonus. While Food Mantra might not be the place for a special occasion or a gourmet experience, it's a solid choice for a casual weeknight meal. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. It's a reliable option when you're craving Indian food and don't want to cook. They've earned a place in our regular takeout rotation, and we'll likely continue to order from them in the future. Perhaps a little more attention to consistency in some dishes, particularly the tandoori items, would elevate their offerings from satisfactory to...
Read moreI am an extremely fussy eater. I have tried probably well over 1000 resturants ( I stay alone and ve to rely on outside food) in eastern, central and southern India. I terms of food this place is easily in my top 5. Now let's talk details.
Ambiance:- 5/5. Nothing too fancy. Not a theme resturant, but tables are big enough for 4 people and situated with enough distance between them to have a private meal. They also have booth option.
Service:- 5/5. The service is real good. Seating, explaining food options, to serving food everything was perfect. Can the service be better... definitely not the price they charge. You want better service, go to a restaurant that charges 10 times more. I have been to my share of them, not all of them provide better service anyway.
Servers:- 5/5. A separate review for the servers is a first for me. First of all they are well dressed. As in spotless attires. No food stains on them that looks icky. Everyone had masks above their nose. A rareity in almost every restaurant. And you can blindly trust them for recommendations.
Price:- 5/5. It's really really cheap for the quality, quantity and taste of the food. I just hope they maintain the price and quality.
Food:- No rating is enough. It's just brilliant. Everything was fresh. Ordered lemon coriander soup, butter naan, chicken begum, tangdi kebab and roasted papad. Everything was spot on. Even soup was made from scratch (a lot of places add readymade). If i have to suggest one thing, try seasoning your tandoor items with a little bit of chat masala. Just a touch. This by the way is the new favourite restaurant of my driver (who by the way is probably a bigger foodie than me)
Side note--- I actually paid 100rs less on the bill by mistake (cause of the night shift) but they didn't make a fuss about it and just asked me to recheck the payment details. And I was able to pay the missing amnt. Really great...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, ". The restaurant is located in the heart of the city and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they were happy to make recommendations.
For my main course, I had the chicken masala, which was cooked to perfection and served with a generous portion of basmati rice. I also had the naan, which was soft and fluffy.
For dessert, I had the gulab jamun, which is a traditional Indian sweet made with milk solids and sugar. It was the perfect way to end my meal.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at A Taste of India. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Indian meal.
Here are some of the specific things I liked about the restaurant:
