Damn good place for a good meal in the midst of nowhere...
If someone's expecting a 5 star restaurant in the middle of nowhere... Please don't. This was an accidental discovery for me. On my way back from Berhampur, I was hungry and wanted to have something at a decent place. Lo and behold, I see Narayani Hotel, on the footsteps of the Narayani Temple.
Coming to the ambience, I wouldn't say it's too great, but it's not bad as well. Restaurant has been divided into two portions. One is an air conditioned portion and the other is general portion non air conditioned. Choice is yours. Tables are clean, crockery is good.
Food, that's why we are here aren't we? The food is really good. I had the 'thali' aka 'all you can eat menu'. Pleasantly surprised that for a price of 160 INR you will be treated to about 10-12 different items, most of which you can reorder for no cost. The food is tasty, and is comparable to the local cuisine.
GOOD FOOD, DECENT SERVICE, REASONABLE PRICE is how I'd like to...
Read moreI went to this eating joint on the way to Gopalpur from Bhubaneswar.
The restaurant has a AC and Non AC seating arrangements.

All my misconceptions cleared upon having the food. It was an amazing thaali with a wide variety of dal, vegetables sabzi, curd and sweet. I had the entire thaali (though I am a small meal eater) and the food was great.
My colleagues who ordered fish and crabs were of the opinion that food was great... Well cooked, just the right amount of spices... And in simple words very home cooked while retaining the spread.
The cost was also fairly low priced (possibly priced as per paying capacity of visitors there). Area of improvement is...
Read moreWorst Service Ever - Avoid at All Costs! Our large family was looking forward to a meal out, but our experience at this restaurant was utterly appalling from the moment we walked in. We politely requested if two adjacent tables could be joined so we could all sit together. The response we received was unbelievably rude and dismissive. We were flatly told "No, we don't do that. Either you eat at separate tables, or you can leave." There was absolutely no attempt to accommodate us or even a hint of politeness. It felt like they simply didn't want our business. We were shocked and frankly, quite offended. Needless to say, we took their advice and left. A restaurant that treats potential customers with such disdain doesn't deserve anyone's patronage. Save yourself the frustration and...
