Negative Experience in Bhubaneswar, Odissa Incident Summary: We recently had a distressing experience at a hotel in Bhubaneswar that warrants serious attention. Upon receiving our bill, we noticed that an extra ₹500 had been added. When we questioned the discrepancy and requested reimbursement, the situation escalated beyond our expectations.
Unacceptable Behavior:
Fraudulent Billing: The hotel added an unauthorized ₹460 to our bill, a clear indication of unethical practices. Hostile Response: When we addressed the issue, the hotel owner and staff reacted aggressively. Instead of resolving the matter professionally, they resorted to shouting and intimidation. Physical Assault: Shockingly, the owner and staff physically assaulted us, including a 70-year-old family member who had simply inquired about the bill. This violent response was not only unprofessional but dangerous. Safety Concerns: The behavior of the hotel staff and owner poses a significant safety risk to guests. Physical violence and threats are unacceptable under any circumstances. Such actions make this hotel an unsafe place for travelers.
Recommendation: Avoid staying at this hotel if you value your safety and expect basic decency and professionalism. The management's response to a simple billing query with aggression and violence is a red flag. Travelers should be cautious and seek hotel with better reviews and a reputation for customer service and safety.
Final Thoughts: Hotels should provide a secure and welcoming environment for their guests. Experiences like ours tarnish the hospitality industry's image and highlight the importance of choosing hotel carefully based on credible reviews and experiences shared by...
Read moreSCAM ALERT! Please pay attention to what I'm writing below if you are planning to visit here. I went there on 20 july 2025 which turned out to be the worst decision of my trip.
1)if your cab driver recommends you this, then please deny him it is a complete case of scam. They get commission to bring in customers here. personal experience
2)the place was very shabby with least hygeine maintained. Plates were not washed, flies and gutters lined in the kitchen with toilet in it.
3)I was charged 230 rs without mentioning anything (5th in the list in photo) and as I asked the manager he said it is driver charges. WE DID NOT HAVE A DRIVER WITH US BUT IT WAS OUR CAR WITH YELLOW NUMBER PLATE. they simply thought it is a tourist car and their local driver had brought us there.
We hail from Maharashtra and we have no contacts here. We came for darshan of lord jagannatha but this experience came at a price of our health. IF YOU ARE READING THIS I SINCERELY REQUEST YOU TO PLEASE AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

Read moreNew Ruchika Restaurant in Bhubaneswar offers a delightful array of North Indian cuisine, with a focus on traditional flavors and home-style cooking. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Aloo Paratha and Sewa Tomato, both of which left a lasting impression on my taste buds.
The Aloo Paratha was impeccably prepared, with a golden-brown crust and a flavorful potato filling that was perfectly seasoned. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and spices, making it a standout dish that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Ruchika.
The Sewa Tomato, a lesser-known dish but equally delicious, was a delightful surprise. The tangy tomato gravy complemented the soft and succulent sewa (vegetable) perfectly, creating a dish that was both comforting and satisfying.
While the Aloo Paratha and Sewa Tomato were exceptional, I must mention that the Paneer Paratha fell slightly short of expectations. While the paneer filling was flavorful, the overall texture of the paratha could benefit from some improvement to match the standard set by the other dishes.
Overall, my experience at Ruchika Restaurant was delightful, with the Aloo Paratha and Sewa Tomato standing out as true highlights. With a slight improvement in the Paneer Paratha, Ruchika has the potential to become a go-to destination for authentic North Indian cuisine in...
