I think the best thing about this place is the authenticity which is maintained while making the south indian dishes. Few of the waiters and all the cooks are from south and hence this is reflected in their dish. The sambhar is niether very watery nor very thick, it is apt. The chutney gives you little pinch of coconut on your tongue which brings the nostalgia of trips to south India especially kerela and tamil nadu. The ambiance of the place is very antique with the dosa being prepared in front of you on a big tawa and also outdoor roadside sitting. The butter variation of the dishes is upto the expectations of a punjabi in terms of butter they put. Idli and wada are good for the price 40rs plate. The butter uttapam is above average and can be improved further. The masala dosas give your taste burst a blast of shock because in punjab you hardly find such authentic aroma and taste of south. Best place to visit if you want to try authentic south indian dishes like idli wada...
Read moreIf you judge this place according to it's looks, then you are very wrong. The place offers one of the best dosas in PATIALA. I mean they are so damn good, like you go to that place any day, it's always crowded. I eat butter masala dosa and it's awesome. Other than that the place offers 3-4 types of uttpaam. Haven't tasted them yet, but expect them to be good as well. The rates vary from 50 to 90 for dosas and 90 to 110 for various types of uttpaam. All I want to say is it's worth trying atleast once. Maybe, you'll find it great as well, like me. The only con I found was with respect to sanitation. A little more cleanliness and the place would be a charm. But what more can expect for mere 70rs....
Read morePros: Value for price dosa/ uttapam/ vada/idli Serves as per your request. ( Once i asked only one idli, he charged me for 1 idli only. Typically 1 plate idli contains 2 idli's. 5-10 max. Wait time for your order. Unlimited supply of sambhar/ chutneys. Awesome.
Cons: Avoid it on weekends (sat & sunday), heavy rush. Might have to wait 10-15 minutes just for a place to sit. Paneer dosa isn't that great. Mixes aloo & paneer. ( Still value for price).
*Things to follow so u can enjoy to max Visit it between 4-7 pm. When it just opens. Avoid take aways to home. It loses its flavor wen cold. Best is to sit and enjoy the delicacies. Hardly...
