Misal pav is a popular Mumbai street food of usal (sprouts curry) topped with onions, tomatoes, farsan (fried savory mixture), lemon juice and served with pav. It can be served for breakfast or as a snack which can be easily extended for lunch and dinner too. You will get here special Shrimant Misal Thali and Special Jain misal thali unlimited and in affordable price.
Special Shrimant Misal: It was spicy and lip-smacking dish. Its taste was unique. It had tangy tomotes and pungent onions with spice powder. This dish was served in a golden thali which makes us feel special. A salad consisting of onions and lemon is served on the side which appeases our taste buds. It is pocket friendly and it is unlimited. Shabudana Khichadi: It was usually flavored with peanuts, chilies, cumin and curry leaves. khichdi was extremely simple and yet so flavorful. I love this sabudana khichdi. They served this with yogurt on the side and with there special peanut ladoo. Thalipeeth: It was generally savoury in taste. It had addition of spices like coriander, cumin and onion. Thalipeeth was generally served with plain yogurt/curd with either fresh butter and pickle as a side dish. It taste was awesome. Buttermilk: It had a sour and tangy taste. It was thick liquid with addition flavoring and thickening agents. It was really refreshing and better for digestion. Aam Panah: It is a very refreshing drink made using Raw mangoes, fresh mint, sugar, salt and roasted cumin powder. It was delightful and natural coolant.
Their hygiene is highly commendable along with their staff and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall great Experience and totally loved this place ๐

ย ย ย Read moreThe experience at Shrimant Misal ani Barach Kahi was very good. Service is very fast. We ordered two different Thalis, one Special Misal Thali and another one was Thali with Bhakri. Both Thalis came within minutes of order, very fast service.
Pricing is very fair.
The experience of Special Misal Thali is phenomenal. You get a big thali with a plate in the center for your misal and small bowls, some having mixtures of misal that you need to mix in the center plate and others having salad and side dishes. In special Thali you get Vada in one bowl and you get a Jar with Kadhi which you need to mix in the bowl with Vada and enjoy your Kadhi Vada. You get another Jar with misal Tari. Remember while ordering that you can ask for less spicy or more spicy Tari, as per your choice. We ordered less spicy Tari as we are not spicy food eating people. While eating with Pav I was not able to feel any spicy taste, but eating misal only without pav, I felt it was a little spicy. If you like spicy food then you should definitely ask for spicy Tari. You get an additional dish where you get more Matki (sprouted moth), diced onion, cucumber slices as part of salad and small curd bowl which you can either mix in misal if you feel it is very spicy or you can eat it in the end as per your choice.
To prepare your misal, mix the sprouted matki/moth in the center plate in your dish along with peanuts, diced onion then pour the Tari and squeeze lemon on top of it. Mix it very well and enjoy your Misal with Pav.
You can have unlimited of all except the sweet Shengdana Ladoo, which my wife liked very much, and peanuts. Ordering these items again...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently visited Shrimant Misal near Abhimanshree, Aundh and honestly found the experience quite underwhelming.
The menu offers a Normal Misal Thali for โน125 and a Special Misal Thali for โน150, but there is hardly any clear distinction between the two. We opted for 3 special thalis, and also ordered a thalipeeth. Unfortunately, the thalipeeth order was completely forgotten, and only taken up after we reminded them halfway through our meal. By the time it finally came, we had to cancel it since we had finished our meal.
Service was the biggest letdown. Despite it being a Sunday, there were hardly 4-5 servers for 25โ30 tables. The waiting time just to get a seat was long, followed by another 10โ15 minutes for someone to clean the table, and then another 10โ15 minutes to actually place an order. Even after that, several items were delayed or missed. Though the thali is advertised as "unlimited," the refills are poorly managed. For example, we had to ask 4โ5 times for the vada initially, and after that, it was never offered again until our meal was almost over.
As for the food, the tarri and kadi were served hot, which was nice, but the taste was average and nothing particularly memorable. The kulfi we tried later was also very ordinary and not worth recommending. Another basic letdown was the onion served with the misalโit is such an essential accompaniment, yet it was cut in a hurry, with large chunks instead of being finely chopped.
Overall, while the concept and presentation might appeal, the lack of staff, poor service coordination, and only average taste really take away from...
