I recently celebrated my birthday at the Oberoi Sukhvilas Hotel and Resort in Chandigarh, accompanied by my husband and mother. We decided to order a wheat-based pizza in farmhouse style with cheese toppings. I specifically inquired with the waiter about its vegetarian status, as I have been a vegetarian my entire life and wanted to ensure that there were no non-vegetarian ingredients. The waiter confidently assured me that the pizza was indeed vegetarian.Sadly, upon receiving the pizza, my husband noticed something suspicious. He suspected that it might contain non-vegetarian elements. Worried, we immediately checked with the waiter again, and to our dismay, he admitted that the pizza did, in fact, contain non-vegetarian ingredients. Read moreWe had the lunch buffet. A respite from the typical taste that one finds at all fine dines of Chandigarh which are different in names but feel like they outsource their food from one place only. Mutton curry, cantonnese chicken, bhatti chicken was amazing, fish was juicy and fresh, veggies were crunchy, dessert menu was spic and tasty and the icing on the top was the food didn’t leave us with a heavy feeling that lasts for more than 15 hours. Service was very courteous and cutlery perfect. However something was amiss due to which the escalation to pleasure didn’t happen. Unable to put my finger on what were the small things that could have caused this situation. The desire to come back could have been stronger, that’s what I feel. A feedback to the valet team…a vehicle should be parked in shade during summers.
Edit : The restaurant seating is highly uncomfortable(if you’re paying north of 4k per person, it’s only mandatory that a person should enjoy his food), staff is very polite but clumsy, food presentation and cutlery doesn’t deserve the price tag, for paying this much it’s almost expected that all the presentation should be put in a trolley and served to the customer...
