Baba Chicken South City River Side — Restaurant in Punjab

Hi everyone, So today I saw this big fraud going on in our ludhiana city ,we all have favorite places to visit in terms of food and mine was BABA CHICKEN so far .But today it is changed because they might be defrauding with their customers,let me tell you today's story.i went to BABA CHICKEN on 5th January 2021 at 10 pm approximately and I ordered a FISH BELLE which was my favorite and I used to eat it like every other day and I had it in my car as I was in easy go mood so I didn't bother to dine in and after having the fish I asked for the bill and handed over 2000 rupee note to him,and after a while he got me my change (without bill )which was 1220 rupees and I was like how much is the fish he said it is 710 rupees and I asked him to bring the menu for me and along with menu I also asked him to bring the printed bill(because yesterday I had the same fish belle and it was 680 rupees)and when I looked Into it said 680 rupee and then I confronted the so called manager (PRINCE)(I don't know if he told me his real name ) .I went to him and asked how could he charge 710, he then told me the rates have been changed and then I asked him for the new menu's on which new rates have been mentioned,he stood still for a while and then he said he doesn't have new menu's but it is already updated on his pos billing machine .I was like how is this even possible to show a customer menu with the rate of 680 and then charge him with 710 for the same thing ? .I was not at all convinced with him ,so I looked on the counter there were many other Bills of other customers, I then checked those bills with the menu rates and none of them were wrong and I asked him about it then he said you can take your whole amount back ,but I never wanted to. I wanted that everyone should know what he did and the owners of BABA CHICKEN might also not know about it ,I hope now they know that this is happening and it was their mistake as well because it is their responsibility to take care.

I just want to let all our LUDHIANVIS know that always check your bill before paying and always check prices on menu before ordering.

Heaven for Chicken Lovers! Baba's Chicken is conveniently located in the long-stretched Canal Road of Ludhiana. Spread across 2 floors, it has a very cozy seating space, with the upper floor having a balcony seating that overlooks the canal and buildings on the other side of the canal. The interiors have also been done well, not too dim and not too bright. Wooden walls and simple paintings don up the walls.

Their specialty lies in Butter Chicken. There are tons of places in Ludhiana that specialize in chicken, but Baba's have kept their name high up on the list. There are other outlets as well across Ludhiana.

They also serve Mutton, Fish, Seafood and Prawns along with their famed chicken. The service is quite fast and the portion sizes are massive. We straightaway ordered the Chicken Kali Mirch Tikka. Tenderloin pieces of chicken, which were very small in size, were served in an elongated plate. The pieces were extremely juicy and soft. Totally worth it.

We then headed for the main course straight. Dal Fry Makhani was ordered. It was very thick and again the portion sizes were good enough for 2 persons. Butter Chicken was obvious. It had a fantastic aroma and taste, It lived up to its name and our expectations. Truly amazing taste. The gravy was to die for. Very thick and wholesome. Although, the chunks of meat were not that juicy, but the gravy won the show! For the breads, the highlight of the evening were the Mirchi Paranthas. These were doughs prepped with a healthy helping of red chillies' powder. The icing on the cake was the melted cheese on top of the parantha. The flavors were unreal. Incredible!

This place brings the Punjabi in you come out like anything. The food is utterly-butterly good. The view from the balcony is very calm and soothing. Google has this place named as Baba Chicken South City Riverside, but this ain't a river, rather a canal. I loved the place. Good food, decent interiors and...

(a) Background/Approach : One Friday evening I decided to visit my friends and south city was planned as the destination.After a twenty minute scenic drive by the Sidhwan canal , I arrived at south city. A couple of beer bottles were picked up from the liquor store.

(b) introduction : Feeling hungry we headed to baba chicken which has seating downstairs and upstairs for families and bachelors respectively.We settled for a scenic view of the Sidhwan canal with gentle breeze blowing across our faces.

(c) Starters: We ordered our favourite spinach rolls along with chicken malai tikka for starters.The spinach roll was scrumptious which was relished along with the minty pudina chutney and onions. The malai tikka was served steaming hot and was juicy, it had the right composition of flavour that made it melt in our mouth.

(d) Main course : Once we were done with starters we decided to go for the signature Baba butter chicken along with half a portion of the lemon chicken.The baba butter chicken is undoubtedly the best I have had till date and is distinct due to the unique flavoured cream unlike the orange gravy that generally accompanies the butter chicken. The butter chicken was extremely delicious and I devoured it along with steaming hot tandoori rotis right from the oven. The lemon chicken had a mild flavour and is worth a try.

(e) Conclusion : We cherished each and every moment spent at baba butter chicken , packed a bit of leftovers. Would have loved to have had more space in my stomach to sample a little bit more. The expressions of joy on our faces were priceless.

(f) Recommendation : A visit to Ludhiana is incomplete without one to Baba Butter chicken. They have a range of vegetarian items on their menu which I am yet to sample.Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the town. Should be the first thing on the...
