Elgin Cafe (Lord Elgin) — Restaurant in Punjab

We visited this place on 19th Feb 2022. Opened recently to public so we decided to give this place a visit. It’s located on the outskirts of Amritsar in SGRD I’ntl Airport Road and need to take a Annex from the main road and is located in the interior. It has ample space for parking and a valet immediately does that job. On entering the premises you get greeted by a area manager who helps you in having a seat arrangement in the cafe. It’s a puzzle like maze through which you need to navigate and reach the designated seating area. You will have a good seating arrangement there with a high placed sofa (good for 2-3 people) and then 4-5 metal chairs. You are provided with 2 menus , one for drink and other for food. We didn’t order any drinks. But here is what we ordered for in meals. In starters, I ordered Veg Tandoori platter ( image attached), it had veg kebabs with paneer mushrooms broccoli and pineapple. It was enough for 5 people. But only paneer and broccoli were good and not the kebabs. They were the worst. In soups I ordered Veg hot and sour with man how soup. Hot and sour soup was not upto the mark, had more of vinegar and I got it replaced with manchow. Manchow was good and it was served with dry noodles. In main course, we ordered Paneer Tikka masala and mushroom masala. Quantity wise it was enough for 5-6 people with enough chunks of paneer for everyone and mushroom was also good. Both the dishes were good and are recommended. In bread we got the assorted bread basket which had 3 pieces of garlic naan, butter naan, 1 missi roti , 2 pices of laccha parantha, and plain roti. So it served us 6-7 people and had to go for another 2 naan in follow up. Overall the nice ambience and music and seating arrangement, located outside the city limits with no honking and traffic snarls. You get a peaceful evening with your loved ones. The DOWNSIDE; Poor Service , Cold food, Delayed service and not upfront. Poor Maintenance of Restrooms, they are not 5 star. Although good sanitary ware items but poor Upkeep.

Pricing : It’s definitely on higher end and costed me 5k for these items. 2 times costlier than regular restaurant. So you are paying for the place and not the food. P.S : You can bring your own cake,...

Such a poor & uneducated management. My sister was working there from past 7months and last month she want to left her job due to some personal reasons. So she gave her resignation ho HR and GM but they rejected continuously and then one day she reach again to there give her resignation to HR and GM then GM badly insulted her infront of others. Then my sister left the job but they hold her salary which is totally illigal according to their restaurant policy in which clearly mentioned if employee left their job with resignation or without resignation company will pay their basic salary but they didn't pay . After few days my mother was visit there but HR and GM both were not giving any response. So finally yesterday I was visit their property with my sister and very politely my sister ask him sir why u r not giving my salary and please tell the reason bcos Na apne resignation accept kiya or insult ki vo alag and GM loudly said "TUJHE SALARY MILNI NHI CHAHIYE" "NIKL YHA SE MEINE BKKI EMPLOYES KE SATH BHI ESA HI KIYA VO TOH NHI BOLE KUCH " and then I show him that in your joining letter properly mention that restaurant will pay employees basic salary if he/she left the job without resignation or with resignation so he totally ignored and said "TU RESTAURANT PE CASE KRDE "MAI POLICE KO BULAUNGA" then we said ok call to police then he totally blank and start shivering bcos he knows he is totally wrong .

After that when I come to my home their HR lady call me and try to convince me if u give me apologies in written then I'll pay your salary otherwise not . Still I ask her mam but there is not mentioned that u have authority to hold her salary the she said ARE MAM US LATER KO CHORIYE . I totally shocked who's hire them as HR or GM .

But now we just think that we give donation to beggar...
