Erose Hotel — Restaurant in Rajasthan

An eminent person and Senior journalist of Sikar Shri Kamal Mathur had invited me to visit their city for a talk.While accepting his invitation my first query was about the quality of hotels there.He unhesitatingly informed me that a newly built 'Niros' hotel is there which according to him could be quite comfortable.After reaching Sikar, which is 310 kms from Delhi, I had a cursory look at the hotel.There was a small but compact room with A.C and attached bathroom is there.A restaurant which can serve 72 guests is also there and a good conference hall with the capacity of 150 people as well.There are 25 rooms mostly A.C and some Coolers facilities are nicely decorated.As there is not a single 'Star' hotel in Sikar, hotel like 'EROSE' ( it's name is changed from Niros to Erose recently) is quite popular amongst the guests. Though it is a budget hotel people from all walks of life prefer to stay in this hotel while in Sikar.It is convenient as 'Erose' is located on Railway Station Road.It is a Vegetarian hotel and serves all kind of Rajasthani as well as the dishes of Shekhawati region.Though a Railway Station is there in Sikar but till now there is no direct rail - link between Delhi and Sikar.However during this year a rail -link will start functioning from Delhi to Sikar,as promised by the Railway Minister in his Budget address.There is no connectivity with flight,people mostly use roads to reach Sikar which is a district headquarter.||Historically,socially,culturally,spiritually Sikar is very important destination.Our First President Dr. Rajendra Prassad had spent a lot of time here,famous industrialist Bajaj family belongs to this city,Shekhawati paintings of this place are very popular throughout the World.Spiritually Sikar is hub of activities like Balaji Temple,Salasar and Khatu Shyamji temple near Ringas.Both these temples are 50 kms from Sikar.Likewise Shakambhri and Jeen Mata Mandirs are about 30 kms from Sikar.The Owner of 'Erose' interpreneur Rajeev Agarwal is of the opinion though clienetele has increased recently but not many guests are inclined to pay more than a Budget hotel. However potential in the hospitality industry is no doubt tremendous in Sikar,as it is a growing city politically and educationally as well.||In Rajasthan Shekawati Region is quite neglected so far as hotel accommodation is concerned.Though there are heritage hotels at Surajgarh and Mandawa but getting a real good hotel is a problem.Culturally,historically,spiritually,socially it is a wonderful region but tourists facilities are not upto the mark.Shekhawati comprise of three districts -||Sikar,Jhunjhunu and Churu. Churu is known for its extreme climatic conditions all over the World i.e coldest in the winter and hottest in the summer season.Jhunjhunu is also known for its valour.There is hardly any family whose one or two members have not given their men to the armed forces of the country.All these three districts are full of Havelis and enriching Shekhawati paintings.||About Shekhawati it is said that if there are 18 industrial houses in the country 15 belong to this region.Look at these names - Birla, Dalmia, Goenka, Singhania, Bajaj, Mittal, Saksaria, Morarka, Deora,Malani,Jhunjhunwala,Khaitan,Modi,Kedia,Piramal,Maheshwari etc.Their Havelis are in Chirawa,Bagar,Pilani,Nawalgarh,Fatehpur,Laxmangarh,Sultana,Churu,Sikar,Jhunjhunu etc.Bits Pilani belongs to Birlas where as Dalmias have Senior Higher Secondary Schools for boys and girls since 1925 in Chirawa,Modi's Institution is wellknown in Laxmangarh.Singhania University is also there near Pacheri.||Good Potential for...

I have had an experience of staying in four hotels in the month of September 2014 at three different places.They are Erose in Sikar,Vivanta by Taj at Jodhpur and Le Meridien and The Lalit at Delhi.These hotels are of their own plus and minus points seeing their places and locations.||First I start with Erose.Though I have already written about this small but compact hotel in the district headquarter of Sikar of Rajasthan situated near the railway station but quite o.k. with the new guests who do not know much about the city.Though Sikar is quite a historical place having the pride of hosting the first President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad and also have the roots of famous industrial house of Bajaj's but what a misfortune that Sikar does not have a rail link with Delhi.One has to reach Sikar by road or catch a train from Delhi uptil Ringus,Churu or Loharu and from there reach Sikar by road.Sikar is around 300 kms from Delhi.This place is quite near to the pilgrimages like Balaji of Salasar and Khatu Shyamji near Ringus. Though loads of buses and trains carry thousands of pilgrims from all parts of the country but to reach these places one has to depend upon buses,cars and other modes of road transport. Sikar may be having many hotels but there is no three - four- five star hotels in this district headquarter. I am giving one because they let us in 4am of the morning. Very poor experience and still experiencing the same during stay. They gave us the worst room even after knowing that I am with my spouse.

No drinking water, no working phone to call service staff, dirty bedsheets, bathroom with dirty water in water heater.

Best part is they gave us road side room so that we can sleep with traffic background sound.

But one thing which is great that they charge for 24 hrs full payment even for 4 hrs of stay.
