TASTE OF MEWAR — Restaurant in Rajasthan

on way to Udaipur, we decided to stop here on impulse. it was lunch time and the place looked good from outside and so there we were.

the place may be new or has been recently renovated. the ambience was good and the place was clean.

the food was OK - not bad, but then not extra ordinary. the menu had a very limited choice. seeing that we were the only ones, they took really long time to serve. we even joked that as it is taking time, they must be preparing it fresh. but when the food arrived, it was luke warm - so was it fresh or reheated, i could not make out.

the staff and especially Devraj Sing (whose name will appear in other reviews) was very friendly - or was acting friendly. once we were done eating, he asked us to review on Google (no problem with that) and as soon as I opened the review page - he started selecting 5 stars, (all the while the phone was still in my hand)... and then insisted i write a positive review and that I mention his name. I declined saying i will write it in my leisure.

while we were leaving they marketed us their Mewar Palace and Resort (just next to the restaurant) - I dont mind this. they upsold their resort and asked us to give it a try on our next trip.

so in all, i am not sure if the staff was genuinely glad to serve us or was it all for the review, I am not sure.

that said, I am not saying not to visit the place, but then there is another restaurant next to it - and it had around 8-9 cars while we were leaving. so maybe i will try food there...

it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure my comfort throughout the stay. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities one could ask for.

The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the view from my window was just stunning. I also enjoyed the hotel’s breakfast buffet, which had a wide variety of fresh and delicious options catering to all tastes. The location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants.
