Our gastronomic journey at Jal and Jalebi Restaurant in Rishikesh was elevated not just by the exquisite Pahadi Thali and the heavenly signature Jalebi but also by the exceptional service and guidance provided by Ratan, a staff member whose knowledge and passion for Himalayan cuisine greatly enriched our dining experience.

Ratan's insightful explanations and recommendations allowed us to fully appreciate the depth and authenticity of the Pahadi Thali, making our meal not just a feast for the palate but also an educational experience into the culinary heritage of the Himalayas. His attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience were truly commendable.

The signature Jalebi that followed was a masterpiece of sweetness and texture, rounding off a perfect meal. The warmth and hospitality extended by Ratan and the entire team at Jal and Jalebi made us feel not just welcomed but truly special.

Can’t give this place more than 2 stars. My husband and I visited a couple of days ago for our wedding anniversary lunch. Beautiful view, and all the tables were full. I specifically requested to the manager to shift us when a table clears, as we came mainly to sit outside for the view. He became distracted and someone else took the table when it cleared, so in the end we sat ourselves. Service was slow and sub par… we had to request everything from napkins to silverware, to water. None of the waitstaff cares to ask if you need anything else, they just plop your plates in front of you and move on. The food was the worst part- completely bland. We ordered the bruschetta bar and tacos, neither of which had any seasoning and were cold. We were also going to try the jalebi they are supposedly “famous” for, but we couldn’t be bothered. Spent Rs. 800 because they also have 18% service charge, but not even good service. Not worth it, would have been happier eating kulcha chole down the street. Oh, and there’s wifi only for hotel guests but not for the restaurant…? Ugh. Definitely...
