Horrendous Experience - Beware of Food Poisoning!

I recently had the most terrible experience at this hotel. I am writing this review to warn others about the significant health risks and utter disregard for customer safety that my team and I endured during our stay. The experience was so appalling that I feel compelled to share our harrowing ordeal.

Firstly, let me emphasize the severity of the situation - almost everyone in our team fell victim to food poisoning after consuming meals at the hotel's restaurant. This unfortunate incident resulted in numerous hospitalizations, causing immense physical suffering, financial burdens, and the disruption of our plans.

The lack of hygiene and proper food handling procedures at this hotel is astonishing. It is clear that the management failed to prioritize the health and safety of their guests. The consequences were dire, with the entire team enduring severe bouts of vomiting, diarrhea, and excruciating abdominal pain. This level of negligence and incompetence is inexcusable, and we have paid a heavy price for their failure to maintain basic standards.

In light of our experience, I strongly advise potential guests to think twice before choosing this hotel. The risk of food poisoning and the potential consequences are simply too high to ignore. It is crucial for hotels to prioritize the health and safety of their guests above all else, and this hotel has clearly failed in this regard.

Hill Top Hotel is located about to 6km from Coonoor and 24km from Ooty. Every tourist sharing van driver can give us 30-40minutes to have lunch here. I found this Restaurant decent in terms of food quality, the best part of this restaurant is its locality, it is located very close to Lambs Rock view point, So pretty convenient for anyone who wants to grab lunch. They do serve both veg and non veg at reasonable prices. The place is located on the way to lamb's rock and is great in terms of food quality and the scenic view. You can have food having a good view of the scenic tea valley on all sides. Since located on top of the hills hygiene is a bit compromised and the dishes are a bit overpriced for the place. Cost is three times expensive. Service is too pathetic. No sufficient manpower to take care of so many hungry people waiting for food. People are arriving hungrily, getting irritated since the waiter does not have time to service all the people.

Veg food rice is ₹180. But its on par with a road side push cart shop. Repeatedly asked to serve us sause, the waiter is reluctant to provide sause and tells that he is coming with the sause shortly.

There were so many local taxis and hired vans arriving with so many tourists to this pathetic food court. Of course these vehicles are local vehicles and seems the drivers get a commission from the hotel for bringing the tourist crowd.
