Ambur Star Briyani - Perundurai Bypass Erode — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

#Starbiryani in Solapalayam, near Perundurai, Coimbatore - Salem Highway : BAD TREATMENT.

It was 8:30 Pm Saturday 6th May 2017, We around 18 members visited this place while driving back from Coimbatore to Chennai to take Biryani, bearer Iyannar offered us place with warm smile to settle and gave leaves, with lots of expectation we ordered 14 chicken / mutton Biryani and other side dishes, bearer said they have only plain Biryani, we asked him that he should have informed earlier before offering us plates rather. Despite we ordered 14 plain Biryani's since it is Star Biryani, but it tastes like tomato rice, since it is not sufficient and in spite of bad taste with no time, we even ordered for more because we were hungry. Bearer replied plain Biryani also now not available, we were asked to take Naan and chicken gravey. Maximum people choose Biryani center to taste Biryani and I hope so !

Rather we were not happy with this behaviour and however we paid Rs.2626 to the bearer and reported to the manager about the incident and received no satisfactory response and finally manager said this is highway hotel and our quality will be moderate only, please do not expect the same taste which we had in AMBUR. Also he said we may not be the regular customer and taste will match accordingly.

We went with lots of hopes because it is #StarBiryani, but now the big question is what happen to their hospitality, customer centric service and authentic taste we expect from this kind of hotels for the price they charge from us.

These people should have told us the availability before offering the seat. We now regret we should have chosen road street hotel rather than believing such big brands who cheats their customers.

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE. PLEASE SHARE AND SPREAD THIS TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY & HOSPITALITY. At least others...

Been there 3 times within span of 9 months. First time: Awesome experience. Second time: Decent. Third time: Bad. I will not visit this place again.

9 months back, visited for the first time, because next door A2B was crowded and surprised by seeing the ambience itself. The staffs were polite, helpful. Service was prompt taste was excellent. We were delighted.

Second visit, around 9.00 pm, surprised to see lot of crowd in the restaurant. Few items were missing but that is fine considering the time of the day. Felt bit pricey and quantity is less.

Third visit, because of kids insistence, became disaster. No place to sit, staff behavior was rude, staff showed a table to sit but some other customer also waiting for the same seat and like a musical chair, have to compete and win the seat. :-) Order taken, later items become unavailable (on 2.00 pm lunch time!!). Items served cold, very less quantity, taste also not good. While waiting for the bill, unavailable item was served to next table. Saw people left with dissatisfaction after settling at the table and ordering !!! Chaos.

Something really went wrong with this branch recently. Considering the reputation earned, location, tradition, etc. of Star biriyani, this particular branch can be manager in a better way for sure. Unless they find the cause and rectify, crowd will reduce gradually. I hope, they will come back to old...

Ambur Star Biryani, located along the Perundurai Bhavani road alongside A2B, has potential but falls short in several areas.

Ambience & Cleanliness: The ambience was decent, but maintenance was a major issue. The entrance and dining area were not clean, and tables and water tumblers were poorly maintained. The restrooms were below average, with stains and no tissues available, making the overall hygiene standards disappointing.

Food Quality & Quantity: While the taste was commendable, the quantity left much to be desired. The biryani portions were small for the price, requiring two servings to feel satisfied. Similarly, the pepper chicken dish had just 7-8 small pieces, which felt insufficient.

Overall Experience: The restaurant has scope for improvement in cleanliness, portion sizes, and overall upkeep. Though the food tasted good, these factors detracted from the dining experience. A few upgrades in maintenance and serving portions could significantly enhance the appeal.

Would recommend only if you're looking for a quick bite and are not too concerned about ambience...
