Here’s a comprehensive overview of Amutha Surabhi (Surabi), a popular purely vegetarian highway hotel located near Pollachi on the Coimbatore–Udumalpet road: --- ✅ What People Love Ambience & Amenities Spacious, clean, family‑friendly place: Many reviews highlight the pleasant dĂ©cor, neat washrooms, and a dedicated kids’ play area — ideal for travelers with families . Good parking & convenient stopover: Located on a busy route, it’s a favored spot for road trips, offering ample parking . Food Quality Authentic South‑Indian curries, dosas, meals: Reviewers repeatedly praise dishes like pepper pongal, ghee roast dosa, thuli bath, and traditional meals with sambar and rasam . Fresh sweets & bakery items: Jilabis, sweets, and snacks get good marks; customers note quality and freshness . Prompt service: Many reviews mention efficient staff and quick service even during busy times . Value Reasonably priced: Most tiffin and meals are â‚č200–400 per person—buffet options cost around â‚č400 and are considered good value . Vegetarian-only appeal: Travelers from temples or those seeking a fully vegetarian option appreciate the pure-veg offering . --- ⚠ Things to Watch Out For Variable service & food consistency: A few reviews report slower service, missing items, or inconsistent taste; one even mentioned a fly in the payasam . Washroom & seating issues: Some guests mention that washroom cleanliness could improve and air-conditioned/dining space is sometimes crowded or limited . Pricing concerns for North‑Indian dishes: While South Indian fare is praised, North Indian items are regarded as mediocre and slightly overpriced by some . --- 📝 Summary Amutha Surabhi is a well-regarded vegetarian stopover offering: Strong points: Clean facility, kid-friendly setup, parking, varied South Indian dishes, sweets, and good overall value. Caveats: Occasional lapses in service or food consistency; seating and washroom cleanliness vary; North-Indian options less praised. 📌 Tip: Best for South Indian tiffins and meals. Try the dosas, pongal, thuli bath, and sweets. If you're after North Indian or buffet, check current quality before ordering. --- ⭐ Final Verdict A solid choice for a comfortable, vegetarian-friendly dining experience on the highway — especially for families and travelers — with great South Indian staples and snacks. Just be aware that service and quality may fluctuate occasionally.

Re: Extremely Disappointed with the Manager’s Rude Behaviour I visited AMUTHA SURABHI on 22nd Oct 2025 with my family/friends, and we were very disappointed by the way the restaurant manager, Mr Bala Sundram treated us. Instead of providing basic courtesy and good customer service, the manager spoke to us with a rude tone and disrespectful attitude. We tried to explain our concern politely, but the manager was dismissive and unprofessional throughout the interaction. This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable, especially in a service oriented business. We have always enjoyed visiting AMUTHA SURABHI, but this experience has left a very bad impression. I hope the management takes this matter seriously and ensures that staff, especially managers to treat customers with respect and professionalism in the future. Thank you

The food was good but faced the worst service ever in my life. On 29th December me and my family (8ppl) reached the restaurant at 8.45 am and the guy who was serving - his name is "MOHAN" was so damn rude from the minute he saw us. We all ordered pongal, idli and poori and one person alone ordered rava dosa. Rava dosa did not arrive although all the rest of us finished eating and we asked him he said it's getting made and it was 9.30 by the time and so we asked again and he says "oru kal tha iruku adhula 10 dosa la poda mudiyadha wait paunga 5mins" (only one pan is available we can't make 10 dosa at a time wait 5mins). Saying this after waiting for 20-25mins is not cool and we are not there to get such words from him like he is not serving us free food.

We while ordered initially itself had asked for 2idli parcel for kid and that the guy Mohan forgot and again for that he made us wait another 25mins like if it's gonna take so much time tell it and we would have not paid and waited that long stating with kids near the billing counter. Even after all this that guy was rude till the very last minute. The worst service ever and I will never go here although the food was good and I will never recommend this place to anyone and for sure will share this experience with everyone I know so no one makes this mistake of going to this place where they treat customers so badly. MOHAN if you are reading this- if you don't change your attitude you will not grow...

Worst customer service I’ve never had in life. Visited the restaurant with fam with full hope but all went in vein, especially the teller/billing women showing face to everyone. I’ve seen people servicing happily when the restaurant is crowded with more customers but here I felt something upside downâ˜čthey were worried the tables when were being occupied by more people. We as a family request the highest management to look into this issue as soon as possible. I know my one bad suggestion wouldn’t make any changes but please note when we returns from the trip via the same route and when it was a meal time exactly at the same place and asked them about this restaurant, to my surprise my entire family members said “NO” to this restaurant. If I’m not wrong they should be around 20 people minimum. So now hope you will understand that it’s not my only review but the review on behalf of everyone in my family. In fact everyone knows about the ratings nowadays irrespective of literacy....
