Many people recommended this place for lunch and they urged us to go early if we wanted a good biriyani as this place closes by 2 PM in the afternoon it seems.
I went there with my family, the place was fully packed, people were standing (waiting) behind the ones who were eating to get a seat. Eventually we also joined the queue. They have a seating capacity of 10 - 12 people at Max.
They serve their food in authentic banana leaf and the foods were cooked using traditional wood burning stoves. The biriyani were getting ready (Will be made in multiple rounds it seems) when we were waiting. Once it was ready they served it for people who were seated. Their full plate mutton biriyani costs, Rs. 340. For dine in they will serve only half a plate, if we want additional we can get quarter or half biriyani based on our capacity.
The biriyani was too good, it was not that spicy, it was a perfect mixture of spices with well boiled mutton pieces and rice. The biryani contained more meat pieces than rice ( Literally, this is the first time I am seeing more meat pieces than rice in a biriyani). We really enjoyed the biriyani, but had to consume it quicker, as another set of people were waiting behind us (Karma!😂). The chicken chuka was also good.
They offered very limited number of items for lunch and dinner. Their timings are also quiet strict it seems. People were asked to go back, as the food prepared was over.
There is no parking facility nearby, so park your vehicles in a safe place and walk to the hotel.
I will definitely recommend this place to try a good and authentic biriyani in Sankarankoil town. It is easily accessible from the...
Read moreI heard about this biriyani during my college days, since then I wanted to try but couldn't get a chance. Recently, while returning from krishnankoil I visited this restaurant. The moment I seated there the server without asking me any questions served a hot mutton biriyani on banana leaf. Maybe they don't have chicken biriyani, I accepted it as that was what I waited for. After serving the biriyani he asked me whether I need mutton chukka, chicken chukka or boiled eggs. Unlike many other places boiled eggs are an option for you. I have ordered mutton chukka only. The biriyani is tasty 😋. If I had been there at my younger age I would have ordered two more plates. I don't want to take any risk now so I stopped with the initial serving. I honestly recommend this place for the biriyani lovers. Don't judge the biriyani by the appearance of this hotel, it looks...
